Newcastle will have the chance to relegate West Brom with a win or draw at St. James Park when the two teams meet on Saturday afternoon.
Though Newcastle were initially toothless when they lost at Everton by 1-0 in their last game they started to improve as the match went on and had come into the game with 4 straight wins. This form has put the Magpies into the top 10 and their season looks to be finishing on a high.
Rafa Benitez’s side are unbeaten at home this year and have had some impressive results in front of their home fans. The only disappointment has been the lack of goals scored at home which stands at 18 for the season.
West Brom just don’t know when to give up it seems, and not many people could have predicted the club getting 4 points in their back to back games with Manchester United and Liverpool. Had they shown that form earlier in the season they wouldn’t look destined for Championship football next season.
The Baggies are almost down and need to win to this game to have any chance of pulling off the greatest of escapes. Recent form has been great for West Brom going the last 3 games unbeaten and gaining 5 points from those encounters. The reality of their away form is there for all to see however, with 11 losses from 17 games.
