Match Preview:
Newcastle are still looking for their first win of the season and there is an air of worry at the club now. The problem the Magpies have is that they can’t bring anyone in even if their bank account is screaming out to do so, and they will be counting down the days until January.
At the weekend Newcastle lost their 7th game of the season as they were beaten 2-0 at Arsenal. Newcastle did create chances and there was a bite about the team but Arsenal showed their qualities in the end and had over 20 attempts on goal. The Magpies are now bottom of the league with six points and are a further six from safety. At home it’s 3 draws and 3 defeats and the clubs last game here finished 3-3 against Brentford.
Are Newcastle the next Norwich? The clubs seem to have reversed roles in the past week. The Canaries have gone their last 3 games without defeat with two wins and one draw. At the weekend Dean Smith’s side recorded a very decent 0-0 draw at home to the in-form Wolves.
Form has really improved for Norwich however the reality of the situation is still bleak given that they are 3 points from safety and if they lose here they would go back to the bottom of the league. On the road it’s just 1 win for the Canaries but again recent form has picked up and they have managed to gain 4 points from their last 9.

Newcastle vs Norwich Prediction:
This is a must win game for both sides but with Newcastle still waiting for their first league win it’s easy to think that it would mean more for the home side.
There have been some encouraging signs lately, and even though their defending was terrible against Brentford in their last home game they were able to score 3 goals in the end, and they tried to give Arsenal a game.
New manager Eddie Howe really has his work cut out but they are about to face a side who have also had their problems and being at home the Magpies should have a good chance in this game. What we should also remember is that this is Eddie Howe’s first home game in charge of Newcastle- it would have been the Brentford game but he couldn’t attend due to having Covid-19. That first game at home means everything and he will be expecting his players to put in a shift, so let’s back the home side.
