England Premier League
Saturday 15th September 2018
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: St. James' Park
Match Preview:
In Rafa Benitez Newcastle have a world class manager but just how long will the Spaniard be able to stay under conditions relating to owner Mike Ashley that is making it difficult for him to do his job properly?
The Magpies are in 18th, a relegation place, and are searching for their first win of the season. They have had to face 3 difficult games from the 4 played so far, in Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City and whilst they did lose them all they also lost with some dignity with the scores being very close.
Benitez with his limitations is working on defence and trying to keep things tight at the back but it is stifling their forward play and this team are not very pretty on the eye.
The exact opposite can be said of Arsenal under Unai Emery - passing out the ball from the back and playing a high line has meant entertaining football even if the Gunners have looked naive at times. However with Newcastle under some disarray Arsenal’s play could take advanatge of the situation up north.
Arsenal fans have been left frustrated as Emery is against putting two strikers up front in Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette and he could be set to pick just one lone forward again for this game. Emery has been under pressure to change his style but the truth is he must keep and implement it for Arsenal and him to go forward.
Team News:
Newcastle: Javier Manquillo and Florian Lejeune remain out injured for Newcastle, while Matt Ritchie and Jonjo Shelvey are doubtful for the Magpies.
Arsenal: Lucas Torreira sustained a knock on international duty for Uruguay but has a good chance to make this game. Laurent Koscielny is recovering well from his achilles injury
Newcastle vs Arsenal Head to Head:
Newcastle won this fixture 2-1 last season.
That win is Newcastle’s only victory over Arsenal in 13 games.
3 of the last 5 games at St James Park has ended 1-0 to Arsenal.
Newcastle vs Arsenal Prediction:
Newcastle to their credit are trying to pick up points but have had a very difficult start to the season fixture wise. Arsenal are in transistion but are showing some future qualities in their build up and attacking play. They battled well in their last game v Cardiff where scoring 3 goals away from home is no mean feat, there are goals in this Arsenal team.
The Gunners are a great price to win this game and we think they can. We also see goals and will go for over 2.5 to be scored.
Newcastle vs Arsenal Betting Tips:
