Man Utd vs Arsenal: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 29th April 2018
Kick off at 4.30pm BST
Venue: Old Trafford

Match Preview:

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has had some legendary games managing his team against Manchester United, and the Gunners visit to Old Trafford will be his last as manager of the club. He also has a rivalry with United boss Jose Mourinho going back for 14 years so all eyes will be on this game.

A Manchester United-Arsenal game rarely lets down and even though both clubs have little to play for, this game will not be a friendly and will be played with passion, aggression and hopefully skill.

United have been superb at home this season losing just 2 games and conceding just 8 goals which is the best in the league. The Red Devil's are 3 points clear of 3rd place Liverpool and have a game in hand, so it looks very likely that Mourinho will get his wish to at least finish in the runners up spot.

For Arsenal it’s been an emotional week as Arsene Wenger announced he is leaving the club after nearly 22 years of highs and lows. The Gunners have since beaten West Ham 4-1 and then drew 1-1 with Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final on Thursday. Surely the club will have too much focused on the 2nd leg later next week than this match. Arsenal have a poor away record with just 3 wins this season and come into this game having lost 5 consecutive League matches away from home.

Manchester Utd vs Arsenal Team News:

Arsenal: Mohamed Eleny will miss this game with an ankle injury, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains out.

Manchester Utd vs Arsenal Head to Head:

Arsenal have won just 1 game at Old Trafford from the last 14 meetings

The last time the two sides met here the game finished 1-1

The last four meetings at Old Trafford has seen both teams score

Manchester Utd vs Arsenal Prediction:

Jose Mourinho looks set to ruin Wenger’s leaving party parade and United at full strength should win this game. If they play like they did against West Brom then Arsenal could get a cricket score but Mourinho teams always come out fighting against direct rivals.
