England Premier League
Saturday 30th March 2019
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Old Trafford
Match Preview:
The big news around Manchester United is that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was finally offered the managers job full time and has signed a 3 year contract with The Red Devils. It has been throughly deserved even if United come into this game with some disappointing results.
A 2-0 loss against Arsenal was followed up by being knocked out of the FA Cup against Wolves but overall Solskjaer has been able to lift the mood which blanketed the players in the first half of the season.
The project for the club is top 4 and they come into this game in 5th place just 2 points behind Arsenal. Seven points from their last 12 is decent form but is poor Solskjaer form and the United legend will want to end the 2 game losing streak with a win here. In the league United remain undefeated at home under the Norwegian.
Watford are in 8th and pushing Wolves for 7th position. They have been solid but at the same time come into this match having lost 2 of their last 3 games, although those defeats were against Manchester City and Liverpool. The Hornets have won just 1 away game from their last five and tend to get beaten by teams above them.
Team News:
Manchester United: Just how many players will be out for United at the weekend? Because the list almost seems endless. We start with Eric Bailly who has not been ruled out but the fact that he suffered a head injury on international duty might mean he doesn’t play. Romelu Lukaku is set to miss this match through a foot injury. Anthony Martial has a knee problem but could be assessed. Nemanja Matic has a knock which forced him to miss international duty. Marcus Rashford has an ankle injury. Luke Shaw is dealing with a knock. Valencia is out with a knock and Alexis Sanchez is not due back until mid April with a knee injury
Watford: Tom Cleverley will miss this game with a calf injury. He is the only injury concern for The Hornets
