England Premier League
Sunday 29th October 2023
Kick off at 3:30pm GMT
Venue: Old Trafford
Match Preview:
A huge fixture will wrap up the 10th games of the season as this weekend we look forward to the Manchester derby. It has been an emotional time for United following the passing of legend Bobby Charlton but in that time they have played out two further unconvincing games albeit both were victories. The first was away to Sheffield United last week as they left it late to secure a 2-1 win and then in midweek against Copenhagen in the Champions League winning just 1-0. A win is a win but Erik ten Hag will know that his United side are not exactly progressing as he would like and there feels like there is much work still to be done.
In the Premier League Manchester United have climbed up to 8th place and form has improved after a poor start with 3 wins from their last four. Those have come against Burnley, Brentford and Sheffield United not the best bar to judge yourself against and in between that they lost 1-0 at home against Crystal Palace.
Manchester City’s recent form has been questionable with two defeats within a month but they did beat Brighton 2-1 at home last weekend which was needed. They also received a boost in Europe with a 3-1 win over Young Boys away from home. Erling Haaland is scoring again too, he never really went away of course but such is his standard if a few games go by without him scoring people will talk. Nonetheless he has netted three times in the last two games and will be roaring to go for this one. City come into this weekend in 2nd place but are five points behind Tottenham although would reduce the gap to two points with a win here, but in a derby that is never guaranteed.
Team News:

Man Utd vs Man City Head to Head:
Last season Manchester United won 2-1 at home.
Manchester City have won 4 of the last five meetings.
The last four meetings have all been over 2.5 goals and have seen both teams to score.
Man Utd vs Man City Prediction:
Manchester City were the favourites to win this game last season but they lost and you just know that United will keep their best performance when they play at home to their fierce rivals. This makes this such an interesting watch and there is no love lost between these sides when Manchester comes together. You get the feeling that both teams are playing within themselves with the quality they have and while it is easy for us to pick City they haven’t always been too convincing on the road with performances. They are looking stronger again in midfield with Rodri and Bernardo Silva though. City will win this game if United are not at 110% but it is true the club have looked average at home but will pump themselves up for this one.
United are a great price to win the game and it is the first derby of course just a week after Bobby Charlton passed, and emotions will be running high. Don’t be surprised if we see a tight scoreline, but we think Man City will win without too much problem.
