Man Utd vs Leicester: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 14th September 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Old Trafford

Match Preview:

Manchester United come into this game where they are actually playing some good, pacey and attacking football and yet a mini-crisis is looming over Old Trafford. This is because despite losing just one game this season they have only won one, and that loss was at home to Crystal Palace.

There is just a general feeling with United that not much is changing under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the team keep losing their way in matches, conceding goals and getting pegged back, and it is happening against teams you would have expected them to beat.

The Red Devils come into this match on the back of 3 games without a win. A draw at Wolves felt like a loss, and then came the Palace defeat and then a draw at Southampton after leading the game for much of the time. Right now the problems aren’t in our faces but at the same time you can feel it brewing up and this game against Leicester looks a difficult and awkward one to navigate.

Leicester are flying high under Brendan Rodgers and are still unbeaten coming into this game. They are 3rd in the table and you get the feeling that their objective is to finish in Europe.

The Foxes start has seen them gain 8 points from four games and some critics will point out that their only difficult fixture so far has been away to Chelsea when that game finished 1-1. Leicester will relish this game, as they will come into it with nothing to lose. Right now once you take out Liverpool and Manchester City there may not be a better group of confident players in the Premier League.

Team News:

Manchester United: Jesse Lingard should be fine for the game after a minor illness meant that he missed the England’s Euro 2020 qualifier. Diogo Dalot remains at 50/50 after his muscle injury to return and could be assessed. Paul Pogba could not play for France with an ankle injury but it is thought to be minor and he is pencilled in to be fit for this game. Anthony Martial should be fine to return for this game after a thigh injury at the end of last month, though remains 50/50

Leicester: Terrible news for Matthew James who has a reoccurance of his achilles injury that had kept him out for the whole of last season. He could be missing for many months. Wes Morgan should return after his minor back injury

Man Utd vs Leicester Head to Head:

Last season this fixture ended 2-1 to Manchester United.

Leicester have not beaten Manchester United since 2014 in any competition going back 11 games.

There is a 70% chance that both teams will score.

Man Utd vs Leicester Prediction:

All of the pressure will be on United to get three points and this game against very decent opposition will test the team no doubt. Up front there could be problems for the club. Marcus Rashford is looking sharp but if Martial does return he could be rusty, that is why we need to have an eye on Daniel James who has started the season so well.

Leicester have a terrible time against United normally although usually the scores are very close. We just can’t see the Foxes not having enough chances against a weak defence to not get a least a goal and so both team to score has to be one of our main bets. Harry Maguire of course will come up against his old club, and the likes of Jamie Vardy will be relishing moments like this. No doubt we should witness a very interesting game full of passion and entertainment.

Man Utd vs Leicester Betting Tips:
