England Premier League
Sunday 28th October 2018
Kick off at 4pm GMT
Venue: Old Trafford
Match Preview:
Sunday is full of cracking games in the Premier League and it will continue when Manchester United take on Everton at Old Trafford.
United continue to fill almost every sports column inch as manager Jose Mourinho remains under pressure to keep his job. The team did well at Chelsea last weekend despite Chelsea getting a last minute equaliser and that game ending 2-2. And still Mourinho was the focus of attention when Chelsea’s assistant Marco Ianni celebrated wildly in front of him.
In midweek United were outclassed by Italian champions Juventus at home in the Champions League. The final score of 1-0 to the old lady pretty much kept the heat off of Mourinho a little, but now United face a team in good form and in confident mood and this is another tough fixture for the Red Devils.
Everton have had a few ups and downs since the arrival of Marco Silva, but the team is reacting now after winning their 3rd game in a row. This has moved the club up to 8th place and a point above United coming into this game.
Away form is still a worry for Everton though with just one win in 4 games but the good news is that it came on their last trip which ended in a 2-1 win over Leicester.
Team News:
Manchester United: United have a few injury concerns ahead of this game. Diogo Dalot is ruled out with a knock. Former Evertonian Marouane Felliani is out with the same problem. Alexis Sanchez is out with a groin problem. Valencia, Scott Mctominay and Jesse Lingard will be assessed ahead of this match
Everton: No new major injuries going into this game
Man Utd vs Everton Head to Head:
Last season Manchester United won this game 4-0.
Everton have not beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford since 2013.
Based on recent games there is a 60% chance not to see both teams to score.
Man Utd vs Everton Prediction:
If football was just about team spirit then Everton would win this game. For United and Mourinho this is another massive game, and it is unclear what version of United will turn up. Romelu Lukaku will be itching to score against his former club, and the timing could be right for the Belgian who has been extremely poor this season, indeed he hasn’t scored at Old Trafford since last March.
Everton will approach this game in a good state and will have to be focused to get anything from this game, but they will be the more relaxed, United simply cannot afford to lose the game and that could, in the end be key.
