Manchester City will be like a wounded animal after last weekend when they went to Wolves and only got a draw after a spirited display from Wolves. Manager Pep Guardiola would have had stern words with his players as the champions have at least 3 rivals this season in Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham that will want to claim the title from them, so there is little margin for error and dropped points.

City will return home and last time they were here they hit 6 goals past Huddersfield, this will be the last game they will play for two weeks so it will be a very important match for Guardiola’s team who play a team not high on confidence.

Newcastle still have off pitch problems and it doesn’t seem likely that manager Rafa Benitez will stick around much longer under the ownership of Mike Ashley. The Magpies are searching for their first win of the season and have lost against Tottenham and Chelsea with just 1 point being earned away at Cardiff. This will be a very difficult game for them and they will set up to defend and play deep.

The gulf in quality is just too much however, and City have such squad depth that even without De Bruyne this could be a big score.
