England Premier League
Saturday 15th September 2018
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Etihad Stadium
Match Preview:
Apart from a surprise draw away to Wolves Manchester City have started the season as we thought they would, winning games with attacking play. However apart from their 6-0 demolishing of Huddersfield a few weeks back they haven’t been putting teams to bed as manager Pep Guardiola would like.
And yet there seems little to complain about given that they have scored the most goals so far in the league with 11. They are massive odds on favourites to beat Fulham at the weekend but you get the sense that Guardiola will also want a performance, not just the three points.
Guardiola has hinted that Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero will play a two man attack. Being at home City may revert back to their 3-5-2 formation and pack the midfield with quality to suffocate Fulham.
As for Fulham they would be forgiven for thinking about their next game because how many teams will come to the Ethihad Stadium and take points this season? Still, after losing their first two games of the season they bounced back well with a morale boosting 4-2 win over Burnley and then drew 2-2 away to Brighton, to leave them in 13th position coming into this game.
Team News:
Manchester City: Raheem Sterling is the big loss for City with a back injury that meant he missed England’s recent games. Kevin De Bruyne is expected back in two months time
Fulham: Tom Cairney will miss this game because of an ankle injury as will Tim Ream after he suffered a knock
Man City vs Fulham Head to Head:
The last time the teams played here Manchester City won 5-0.
Manchester City have scored 9 goals in their last two games v Fulham.
The last time Manchester City failed to score at home v Fulham was in 2004.
Man City vs Fulham Prediction:
It would be foolish to go against City for the win, then again it may be foolish to back them at odds of 1.08. Instead we will look into the goalscorers market. Leroy Sane has been all the talk of City lately because he has found it hard to accommodate his place. If Guardiola gives him a chance on Saturday he is worth backing for anytime goalscorer as he will want to prove a point and is also good value.
We feel that City can score a few goals too and they should be looked into winning the game on the minus handicap. City will want to put in a performance and get back on track and then ready for their first Champions League game of the season.
Man City vs Fulham Betting Tips:
Manchester City to beat Fulham with a -2 goal handicap at 1.83
Anytime goalscorer: Leroy Sane at 2.20
Manchester City to score 4+ goals at 2.10
