Man City vs Fulham: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 5th December 2020
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Etihad Stadium

Match Preview:

Manchester City recorded a much needed victory and boost last weekend with what felt like a throwback demolition job as they beat Burnley 5-0. It was a result that was ‘just needed’ after what has been a slow start by City’s standards, which has seen the club drop far too many points.

Having said that City have a game in hand over their would be title rivals and win that and they would actually be in 5th place and just three points behind league leaders Tottenham. Not all is lost for Pep Guardiola’s team even if they come into this match currently in 11th.

At the Etihad City have won 50% of their games which is low for them but they have gone their last three games here undefeated and make no mistake will be the huge odds on favourites to win this game.

In midweek Guardiola’s team were left frustrated as they drew 0-0 with Porto away from home but they will qualify from the group anyway and will be focused on this match.

Fulham won just their 2nd league game of the season when they surprised many with a 2-1 win at high flying Leicester last Monday evening. It was an expected loss for Scott Parker’s team but they came up good and as a result moved into 17th place.

Form for Fulham has been decent with two wins from four games, and even in the Everton defeat they almost came back to draw with that game finishing 2-3, but there has been a certain improvement from the Cottagers in the past few weeks. Away form has seen just 1 victory and the club have lost 60% of their games on the road.

Team News:

Manchester City: Sergio Aguero is hoping to return after a swollen knee and will face a late assessment. He is the clubs only doubt coming into this encounter.

Fulham: The Cottagers have no new injury worries ahead of this match.

Man City vs Fulham Head to Head:

Last season Manchester City won this fixture 3-0.

Manchester City have scored 10 goals in their past 3 league meetings with Fulham.

There is a 70% chance to see over 2.5 goals.

Man City vs Fulham Prediction:

Manchester City are around 1.10 to win the game which really has no value at all. City should have few problems even if Fulham did pull off an excellent result against Leicester.

The 5-0 thrashing of Burnley would have given City a belief that they can start scoring goals again and try to go on a consistent run in the league. It has been noticeable to see Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea as good as they are drop points with draws and all it takes is a good run by City to set the cat amongst the pigeons.

We think City will win but the prices aren’t too good so we will look into different markets.
