England Premier League
Saturday 26th October 2019
Kick off at 12.30pm BST
Venue: Etihad Stadium
Match Preview:
It’s been a good week for the Premier League champions who beat Crystal Palace and then demolished Atalanta 5-1 in the Champions League. The icing on the cake was seeing Liverpool finally drop points this season as the league leaders drew against Manchester United and the gap to them is now 6 points.
City will be the massive odds on favourites being at home and playing the newly promoted Aston Villa. The last time City played at home in the league they lost in shocking fashion 2-0 against Wolves and it would take a brave person to predict that they will slip up for a 2nd time in a row. The Atalanta victory was at the Etihad and that result has calmed everybody to the extent that the feeling is City won’t even have to break into second gear to get a win in this Saturday lunch time kick off. City have won just 50% of their games at home but they should have little trouble here.
Aston Villa come into this match in 12th place with 11 points and Dean Smith’s side are in form having gone 3 games without defeat that includes winning their last two matches. Those victories were against Norwich and Brighton and the club are not shying from goals and have scored 7 from their last two games.
Victory would launch Villa into the top 10 but the club have won just 1 game from the four played away and lost the others. In their defeats against quality team such as Arsenal and Tottenham it should be noted on each occasion they conceded 3 goals, and on each occasion they were in winning positions.
