England Premier League
Saturday 25th November 2023
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Kenilworth Road
Match Preview:
Like Burnley, Luton may have an extra boost given Everton’s penalty fine which has left them in 19th place and the Hatters are in 16th place and two points ahead. Although only 1 point separates them from the bottom three so a home win would feel like six points right now. Although like Burnley Luton are yet to win at home so this remains a huge problem for survival. They have drawn two games here but have the second to worst home record. Despite that, there is good news. Luton have only conceded seven goals at home and in their last match here they drew 1-1 with Liverpool and were literally seconds away from recording a famous victory. There is much work to be done but are they heading in the right direction?
Crystal Palace are in 13th place with 15 points and are already looking safe and secure and are ten points clear of the bottom three. Recent form has suffered though and they have lost three of their last four games with their latest one ending in defeat at home to Everton. It’s just four points earned for the Eagles from their last 15 and the worry will be that they could go through poorer form and drop places but this is a club that normally recovers and gets results just when they need to. Palace actually have a much better away record so far and have won 10 points from their total haul of 15 on the road. This includes winning two of their last three games with victories over Manchester United and Burnley. With the teams so tightly bunched together Palace could make headway with a win and possibly move up four places so this match remains an important one.

Luton vs Crystal Palace Prediction:
It’s been almost two decades since the clubs last played each other so we can’t really go off the h2h meetings. Having said that Crystal Palace have failed to win at Luton’s for the past three games and 29 years but the problem with that is the clubs haven’t played each other consistently in recent times.
Luton will be looking for their first win at home and they would have been disappointed to have drawn with Liverpool which speaks volumes and you have to respect that the team were able to up their game and give the Reds a real fright. One would expect that to be carried over into this game but the problem with that is the international break came. We think this could work in Crystal Palace’s favour and there are goals in Roy Hodgson’s side when they are at their best although of course their form has suffered in recent games. To summarise it is possible that the break came at the wrong time for Luton and at the right time for Palace.
