Liverpool vs Wolves: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 12th May 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Anfield

Match Preview:

Wow just wow, that would pretty much sum up Liverpool’s week where they came back from 3 goals down against none other than Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final to beat them 4-0 in the 2nd leg at Anfield and reach their second successive final.

It was a stunning result in midweek and now the club have the chance to win the league title, their first since 1990 and of course they have never won the title since it has been known as the Premier League.

The team will be in great spirits and have an ultimate feel good factor about them but can they beat Wolves and hope that Manchester City either lose of draw? Anything in football is possible.

Of course Liverpool come here with the disadvantage of being a point behind City and they do not have their fate in their own hands but only a fool would write them off at Anfield in front of the Kop. Whatever happens on Saturday afternoon they will get a superb reaction from the fans.

It is incredible to think that Liverpool could finish with 97 points, lose just 1 game all season, and still lose the league, but that is the reality of this seasons battle against Manchester City. At home Jurgen Klopp’s team are unbeaten and have won 16 of their 18 games.

Wolves will be happy enough as they have secured 7th place in what has been a successful season for the club despite missing out on the FA Cup final after their meltdown in the semi finals against Watford. Wolves come into this game having won 3 games in a row.

However the club still look unconvincing on the road where they have lost 7 games this season and have won just once in their last six matches.

Team News:

Liverpool: Roberto Firmino should return after his muscle injury ruled him out of the Barcelona game. Naby Keita is out for at least two months with a thigh injury. Mohamed Salah is expected back after his concussion. Divock Origi has a knock but there is a good chance he will play. Andrew Robertson has a calf injury and may be rested here to give him a chance of playing in the Champions League final

Wolves: There are no injuries for the club ahead of this game

Liverpool vs Wolves Head to Head:

The teams last met in the FA Cup where Wolves knocked Liverpool out winning 2-1.

In the reverse fixture earlier this season Liverpool won 2-0.

The last time the teams met at Anfield the game finished 2-1 to Wolves.

Liverpool vs Wolves Prediction:

Wolves have caused Liverpool plenty of problems recently and in the past and while we think that Liverpool will not lose this game it is worth backing Wolves to get something for us on the handicap. Wolves are a proud team and will want to finish the season well and will make life difficult for Liverpool who may just be a litle hungover from their exploits in the Champions League. Of course there is a title to be won, but if City score early and it looks like going their way this will filter through the crowd and make its way to the pitch. On the flipside if City are not doing the job it will only encourage Liverpool more. So this is a difficult game to predict even on paper we know that Liverpool should ease to a win.

Liverpool vs Wolves Betting Tips:
