England Premier League

Venue: Anfield
Match Preview:
What a game this could be as Liverpool take on Tottenham in a repeat of the Champions League final on Sunday afternoon.
Liverpool come here unbeaten in 9 games and lead the table by three points. Their first dropped points of the season came against Manchester United last weekend with the game finishing 1-1 and some have suggested that the Reds, as brilliant as they have been, have not been focused enough in their last 3-4 games. The worrying aspect of that is that they can play much better.
Liverpool have had a good hold over Tottenham in recent years and even though the Champions League final was a dull affair which Liverpool won 2-0, this game one would suspect will be played at a much faster pace with both teams taking more risks.
At Anfield Liverpool have a 100% record after 4 games and are scoring on average 3 goals a match. In the Champions League in midweek Liverpool brushed aside Genk 4-1 away from home.
How do you solve a crisis with pressure coming in at all angles? Well for Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham all the misery of the last few weeks could be solved in 90 minutes. If they were to beat Liverpool, ending the Reds unbeaten streak, possibly allowing Manchester City back into the league and winning themselves of course, everything would be forgiven and forgotten, that is how football plays out. Lose this and that misery would continue, especially if they lost by a big score line.
Some of their problems were helped as Tottenham won in Europe 5-0 against Crvena Zvezda. But the pressure remains as they were not seen as any type of real test for the Londoners.
In the league a bizarre piece of officiating last weekend gave Tottenham a draw when they were heading for defeat at home against Watford, the side in last place. While there is talk of problems at the club, a win here could take them possibly 5th, and they have time to recover. But some recent results have simply been poor. Away from home Tottenham would be 17th in the league, with their last match ending in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Brighton and they have yet to win on the road this season.
