Liverpool vs Fulham: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League

Kick off at 2pm GMT
Venue: Anfield

Match Preview:

Liverpool have looked slick but have dropped a few points of late. Drawing away to Manchester City was a good point but doing the same against Luton was poor for a side who have the league title in their sights. However the Reds are right in the mix and came into this weekend only two points shy of 1st place. Jurgen Klopp’s side have only lost once so far and won 8 of their opening 13 games. It’s at home where the Reds have really shined though, and they have a 100% win rate and many will expect that to remain intact after this weekend.

Alongside Aston Villa only Liverpool have a 100% record at home and they have scored 17 goals and only conceded 2 here. Their last home game finished in a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Brentford and in their last five home games they have only conceded once which was against West Ham. In midweek it was another stroll for them as they smashed Lask 4-0 at home in the Europa League and that victory confirmed their qualification to the knockout stages as group winners.

Fulham beat Wolves 3-2 on Monday night and that victory was welcomed after two months with no wins. The Cottagers are down in 14th place and have 15 points and are well on course to stay up but remain one of the teams that could fall into poor form and so gaining as many points as possible before spring will be the objective for them. The club's last away game ended in a 3-1 defeat against Aston Villa and on the road they have tasted victory just once and won six points from a possible 21.

Team News:

Liverpool: Alisson is out for a possible two weeks with a muscle injury. Andrew Robertson is not due back for six weeks due to a shoulder injury. Thiago Alcantara remains out with a hip injury and could miss the next four weeks. Stefan Bajcetic and Diogo Jota are out with no fixed return date.

Fulham: Matthew Dibley-Dias and Rodrigo Muniz could be assessed to return but are only 50/50 to do so. Issa Diop, Tyrese Francois and Adama Traore remain out with no fixed return dates.

Liverpool vs Fulham Head to Head:

Last season Liverpool won this fixture 1-0.

In the last 10 meetings Fulham have only managed one victory although it did come at Liverpool.

There is a 60% chance to see over 2.5 goals.

Liverpool vs Fulham Prediction:

Liverpool as expected are very short odds and not many punters are going to be backing them. Their home record has been perfect and it would be a real surprise to see them drop any points against a side they usually have little trouble beating. True some games have been closer than expected with just the odd goal in it and last season here it took a Mohamed Salah penalty to win it but to bring the price up to some value we will back the ht/ft market.

As for goalscorers watch out for Darwin Nunez who hasn’t started as strongly as he would like but is looking sharper by every passing week. Mohamed Salah almost looks like a shoe in to get on the score sheet as he loves playing against Fulham and at home this looks all set up to be a straightforward victory for the Reds.

Liverpool vs Fulham Betting Tips:

Half Time/Full Time: Liverpool/Liverpool at 1.72

Anytime goalscorer: Mohamed Salah at 1.80

Anytime goalscorer: Darwin Nunez at 2.00
