Liverpool vs Cardiff: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 27th October 2018
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Anfield

Match Preview:

Liverpool are still keeping the pressure up on Manchester City at the top of the league with only goal difference separating the two clubs. They are still unbeaten in the league coming into this game after their 1-0 victory at Huddersfield last weekend.

Jurgen Klopp’s team were also buoyed by their fantastic 4-0 victory over Red Star Belgrade at Anfield in the Champions League and striker Mohamed Salah has started to score goals again for the Reds. This is all good news for the team who are hoping to pick up their first silverware under their German coach this season.

At Anfield Liverpool are unbeaten with their only blemish coming in their recent 0-0 result against Manchester City. They have scored 8 goals at home and have superbly not conceded a single goal so far.

Cardiff won their first game of the season last weekend with a super 4-2 win over Fulham. This lifted the team into 17th place and finally put a smile on manager Neil Warnock’s face. But make no mistakes this game will be an incredibly tough one for the Welsh club who have a poor away record with no wins, have scored once and have conceded 7 goals.

Team News:

Liverpool: Jordan Henderson is a big blow for the home side and is ruled out with a hamstring injury. Naby Keita still has a thigh problem but may be assessed ahead of this game

Cardiff: Aron Gunnarsson no sooner came back into the squad and may be out again with a knock he sustained in the Fulham game but will be assessed. Gary Madine is recovering from a virus but could feature. Joe Ralls is serving his 2nd match of his 3 game ban for a red card

Liverpool vs Cardiff Head to Head:

The last time the teams played here was in 2013 when Liverpool won 3-1.

Liverpool have scored 9 goals in their last two meetings with Cardiff.

Liverpool vs Cardiff Prediction:

It would be a big surprise to see anything other than a Liverpool win, and history and form suggests that another three points are coming to the club. But they are massive odds on to win this game and in the league they haven’t torn apart teams as much as we would like. They should win and Warnock’s side may well struggle to score a goal. Liverpool haven’t conceded yet at home but that obviously won’t last, however Cardiff have just one goal away from home so Liverpool have a good chance at another clean sheet today. We will also back the final correct score which always offers better value and back a Liverpool goalscorer.

Liverpool vs Cardiff Betting Tips:

Total goals/Both teams to score - Over 2.5 & No at 2.40

Anytime goalscorer: Roberto Firmino (Liverpool) at 1.72

Correct Score: Liverpool to win 3-0 or 4-0 at 7.00 and 8.50
