Match Preview:

Leicester’s season still hasn’t taken off and as we come close to December maybe this is a season where the Foxes will not be fighting for a top four place as we continue to wait for the team who have surprised us and have remained quite consistent over the past 24 months.

The Foxes are 8 points adrift of a top four place and have 15 points. Last weekend they were beaten 3-0 at home to Chelsea, should that result come complete with alarm bells ringing? True losing to the European champions and current league leaders shouldn’t be a cause of headache but Chelsea are a team that Leicester have played well against in general even in their great years and normally we see Leicester up their game against the top teams.

The Chelsea defeat signalled 3 games without a win for Brendan Rodgers side. Home form has been quite miserable with just two wins from six games played and the fans have seen just 7 goals scored and 10 conceded. After beating Manchester United here, which was a vintage performanc, they have now gone their last two home matches without victory.

Watford have been gung-ho crazy, and when it works under Claudio Ranieri what a sight it is to witness. When it doesn’t they go and lose 5-0 to Liverpool but let’s not forget they have stuck 5 goals past Everton and 4 past Manchester United. Indeed in the Hornets last game- beating Manchester United 4-1 that cost Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job. The hope is that with Ranieri in charge Watford may settle down and struggle at times but won’t be relegated, well that is the hope.

Team News:

Leicester: Jonny Evans is being tipped to return for this game. Ricardo Pereira is out with a hamstring injury and he looks set to miss the next 2 weeks at least. Youri Tielemans has a calf injury and he is expected to miss the same period of time.

Watford: Kwado Baah has an ankle injury and he is set to be out for an extended period of time. Ismailia Saar could be the big blow with a knee injury, he is ruled out of this game but no time frame has been given on his return. Christian Kabasele could be back in the squad but will face a late assessment due to his lack of match fitness.

Leicester vs Watford Head to Head:

This will be the 70th game between the clubs and Leicester have the majority of the results with 30 wins.

The last time the teams played was in 2019 here and Leicester won 2-0.

Watford has 1 win in the last 5 meetings between the sides.

Leicester vs Watford Prediction:

Claudio Ranieri would love to get one over his beloved former team Leicester and make no mistake the Italian will get a huge reception at the club when he comes through the doors as manager of Watford.

On paper you’d call this a Leicester home win but they have not been wholly convincing this season. However manager Rodgers has been bullish in recent interviews and we will place our trust in his side to get the win.

Watford look fearless and it could serve them well in their objective to stay in the league, but there are going to be times with their tactics where they will get caught out. We should see a very entertaining game and Leicester’s defence isn’t so trustworthy to us so we will pick out both teams to score.

Jamie Vardy has had his moments this season but not enough of them but he does love scoring against Watford.

Leicester vs Watford Betting Tips:

Leicester to beat Watford at 1.62

Both teams to score at 1.66

Anytime goalscorer: Jamie Vardy at 1.72
