Leicester vs Tottenham: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League

Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: King Power Stadium

Match Preview:

It’s happened two times to Leicester this season, terrible runs followed by a turn of form just at the point where you feel that the board cannot take any more and have no choice but to sack manager Brendan Rodgers, bang! He’s able to pull it out of the bag. This is why the Foxes come into this tough looking home fixture against Tottenham unbeaten in their last two after a draw against Brighton and a win over Aston Villa. The Villa victory was impressive given that they won 4-2 away from home and in their last two games the Foxes have scored 6 goals.

Leicester have climbed to 14th but let’s be sure they are not out of danger and are in fact just 3 points from the drop. Have the club fully turned a corner? Not quite yet and they have still lost 3 of their last five games. At home Leicester would be ranked in 19th place and they have lost 50% of their matches here. Home fans are waiting patiently on the next win since the last one was back in October when they beat Leeds.

Tottenham remain an enigma but they have been that way for a good 50 years now. It’s difficult to remember a very poor Tottenham side, and they have always had quality on the pitch, just not enough of it and have lacked consistency when it really matters and this is this present Tottenham side in a nutshell. The club look in great shape to challenge for a top 4 finish but at the same time their derby neighbours Arsenal are 11 points in front with a game in hand and look in great shape to win the title.

Team News:

Leicester: Ryan Bertrand has overcame injury but won’t play here as he has a lack of match fitness but could return next week. Jonny Evans has the same problem but is 50/50 to make this one. Sammy Braybrook could well miss the rest of the season with his knee.

Tottenham: Cristian Romero is suspended as he has was sent off in his last game. Yves Bissouma is sidelined with an ankle injury. Hugo Lloris will miss the next 2 months with a knee injury.

Leicester vs Tottenham Head to Head:

Last season Tottenham won 3-2.

In 119 games played between the teams there has never been a 0-0.

Tottenham have won the last 4 meetings in a row.

Leicester vs Tottenham Prediction:

It was very important for Tottenham to beat Manchester City last weekend and of course the talk has been about Harry Kane and his goalscoring records, and we expect that he will add to his tally this weekend.

Leicester despite their win over Aston Villa do not look wholly convincing to us but that doesn’t mean we won’t see a very end to end game with lots of chances for both sides. Both teams to score looks a given and this can be a fixture that produces quite a few goals. It must be encouraging for the Foxes that they are scoring again and let’s not forget this has been worrying times for Tottenham who have recently seen their manager Antonio Conte not in the best shape as he had to undergo a gallbladder operation. Tottenham of course have the chance to break into the top four this weekend and really put the pressure on Newcastle and they need to be beating teams in the lower half of the league if they want to achieve this.

Leicester vs Tottenham Betting Tips:

Tottenham to beat Leicester at 2.10

Anytime goalscorer: Harry Kane at 2.00

Both teams to score at 1.57
