England Premier League
Monday 30th November 2020
Kick off at 5:30pm GMT
Venue: King Power Stadium
Match Preview:
The first of two Monday evening games will see Leicester take on Fulham and given their respective league placings the home side will be the favourites to take all three points.
Leicester could go above Liverpool on goal difference with a win after the Reds surprise draw at Brighton and it is really tight up there presently. The Foxes are in good form despite losing to Liverpool last weekend, 3-0. Before that Brendan Rodgers side were on a 3 game winning run, and the club will feel that they can get back to winning ways in this match against Fulham who are in 19th place and have had just one win so far.
The Foxes were involved in a breathtaking game at Braga in the Europa League in midweek in a contest that ended 3-3. The match had been 2-2 at 90 minutes but Braga scored in the 91st minute for what looked like a winner before that man Jamie Vardy scored in the 95th minute in dramatic fashion. As far as the group stages go Leicester have qualified for the knock out rounds and even though they have played a game more than Fulham in midweek and travelled the club would have got a confidence boost by this trip to Portugal.
Fulham are in trouble but could escape the bottom three with a win. The Cottagers come into this game having lost their last two, with a 3-2 defeat at home to Everton and also losing 1-0 at West Ham. Away from home Scott Parker’s side have earned just 1 point from a possible 12, that point was earned against Sheffield United in a match that ended 1-1.
Team News:
Leicester: Timothy Castagne missed the clubs last game against Liverpool with his hamstring and will be assessed before this one. Ndidi is still out but could return next week after his groin injury.
Fulham: An update on Terence Kongolo who is still yet to play for the club is that he is still injured from his foot injury with no return on the horizon. Kenny Tete is out long term with a calf injury since September.
Leicester vs Fulham Head to Head:
Leicester won this fixture last season 3-1.
In recent times the clubs have only met on six occasions and on each one both teams have scored.
Fulham have not beaten Leicester since 2008.
Leicester vs Fulham Prediction:
With all due respect to Fulham if Leicester drop points here it would be a real blow to what the club are trying to achieve under Rodgers. Football doesn’t always seem as easy as it should be but it is hard to think that any other result other than the home win will happen.
The bookies think this too and that is why Leicester are priced up at 1.50 to win, but it isn’t the worst price ever. We will extend that value at no extra risk with a -1 asian handicap though. True Leicester played in midweek but the fact they play on a Monday and not at the weekend and they are at home means that the players will be well rested and prepared for this game.
Fulham will try like every Premier League club does, but one suspects they will be on the back foot for much of the game and could crack under the pressure.
Leicester vs Fulham Betting Tips:
Asian handicap (-1 Leicester) at 1.96
Over 2.5 goals at 1.72
Both teams to score at 1.80
