England Premier League
Saturday 29th December 2018
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: King Power Stadium
Match Preview:
Leicester just continue to surprise, every time you think they are going to go on a bad run they just bounce back like a heavyweight boxer on the ropes who finds a second wind.
After going out of the Carabao Cup a competition that they desperately wanted to win they went to Chelsea and beat them. Then they faced Manchester City, the team who knocked them out of the Carabao Cup and the current champions- and beat them. They have gained 6 points from these two matches where they were expected to get nothing.
These latest victories have seen the club rise to 7th place on 28 points although they are still 4 points adrift of Manchester United and 6th. The Foxes remain very unpredictable because for every win over a top side there is the recent draw at home to less impressive opposition like Burnley and West Ham and they have picked up 14 points from a possible 27 at home.
Cardiff drew 0-0 against Crystal Palace last weekend and the point away from home would have been welcomed by Neil Warnock’s team. However it also means that they haven’t won a game for 3 matches. They come here in 17th place and are 3 points safe from the bottom three. A win could advance them a couple of places so there is all to play for here.
However Cardiff have the 2nd to worst away record in the league and are still searching for their first win on the road in 9 games. They have lost 7 times.
Team News:
Leicester: No new major injuries for The Foxes coming into this game
Cardiff: Callum Paterson will be assessed but could miss this match with a knee injury. Ashley Richards is still out from a lack of match fitness. There is no news on Daniel Ward who has a knock and has missed a few games already. Kenneth Zohore has a thigh injury and missed the last game but he will be assessed
