England Premier League
Saturday 19th October 2019
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: King Power Stadium
Match Preview:
Before the international break Leicester played Liverpool, and with the game heading for a 1-1 result and Leicester about to break Liverpool’s 100% start to the season the Reds were awarded a penalty. Depending on who you ask, and what you see, some say stone wall penalty and others say that Sadio Mane made a meal of it, either way Liverpool won 2-1 in the final minute of injury time. Leicester were aggrieved and manager Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that the two week break means the harsh Liverpool result is out of the players system now and they can move on because they have had a tremendous start to the season.
The Foxes come into this game in 4th place and they are still evidently in a great position. They have lost two of their last four games with defeats against Liverpool and Manchester United and whilst that could look predictable both games have been incredibly close affairs.
At home Leicester have the 2nd best record in the league only second to Liverpool and have gained 10 points from a possible 12 including winning their last 3 games at King Power Stadium and scoring 10 goals in those three wins.
Burnley are one of the better form teams at the present time and have gone their last 4 matches undefeated. Their last game was a home 1-0 win over Everton and away from home they have drawn their last 3 games in a row. The only worry for Sean Dyche’s team is that they are yet to record a victory on the road this season.
Burnley are in 7th place with 12 points and a win would see them leapfrog Rodgers team.
Team News:
Leicester: The Foxes have no new injuries with the only doubt James Maddison who had an illness and missed international duty, a trip to the casino cured that
Burnley: Ashley Barnes has a minor groin injury, he is 50/50 for this game and will be assessed. Jack Cork has an injured shoulder and will also be assessed. Daniel Drinkwater is ruled out but is back in training following his ankle injury
Leicester vs Burnley Head to Head:
Last season this fixture ended 0-0.
Burnley have 1 win from the past 4 meetings.
Burnley have not beaten Leicester away from home since 2007.
There is a 60% chance to see under 2.5 goals.
Leicester vs Burnley Prediction:
Leicester will be the obvious odds on favourites and on their day they could beat Burnley comfortably, but we will resist using a handicap and go for the straight win as not many teams beat Burnley by many goals, and they have been rather difficult to beat lately. Burnley will be hoping that Ashley Barnes is fit, he has already scored a few important goals this season and his loss could be a big boost for Leicester.
Leicester vs Burnley Betting Tips:
Leicester to beat Burnley at 1.57
Anytime goalscorer (Jamie Vardy) at 1.83
