England Premier League
Tuesday 26th February 2019
Kick off at 7.45pm GMT
Venue: King Power Stadium
Match Preview:
The big news for Leicester is Claude Puel’s sacking which came after the team were humiliated at home by Crystal Palace in a 4-1 defeat. Whilst The Foxes recent form had been poor some have seen this as a surprise given some of the teams results this season including beating the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea and recently drawing with Liverpool at Anfield.
Still the club have shown signs of Jekyll and Hyde syndrome this season, one week looking like the side that stunned everyone when they won the league in 2016 and another looking like a mid table team which they have become.
Leicester come into this game with two caretaker coaches in the dug out in Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell. Stowell has been with the club as caretaker numerous times since 2007. Stowell and his assistant will have a job on their hands to turn the clubs fortunes around as they have gained just 1 point from their last 15 available and they have not won at home since beating Manchester City on Boxing Day.
Brighton have slipped to 16th with their latest loss coming against Burnley, in a 3-1 home defeat. Chris Hughton’s side have gone from a solid mid table side challenging for a Europa League place to a team who could now be relegated.
They have picked up just 6 points from their last 10 games and have not won away from home in over 3 months. They have lost 9 of their 13 away matches.
Team News:
Leicester: No new injuries coming into this game
Brighton: Florin Andone has a 3 game match ban following an incident reviewed by the FA in the FA Cup and will miss this game. Leon Balogun and Lewis Dunk both have knocks but will be assessed for this game. Jurgen Locadia has an ankle injury. Glenn Murray who had been scoring goals has a knock and will be assessed for this game. Davy Propper missed the cup game with illness but should be able to return for this game. Max Sanders also has a minor knock and Solly March will be assessed after his ankle injury
