Leicester vs Brighton: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Tuesday 23rd June 2020
Kick off at 6pm BST
Venue: King Power Stadium

Match Preview:

There would have been disappointment in the Leicester ranks after they drew with Watford 1-1. A superb goal by Ben Chilwell, a target for Chelsea, looked to have settled the game scoring in the 90th minute. However a match which wasn’t high on excitement had an excellent injury time period that saw Watford equalise with another brilliant goal.

Brendan Rodgers will have to remain upbeat and a point away from home is still decent, it’s just the manner in how it happened thinking that his team had just won 3 points.

The Foxes created many chances against Watford but the telling point was that despite doing so and having the majority of possession they only had 2 shots on target. But once the club are up and running, and that could well start with this game, they should be back to winning ways soon enough.

Brighton will be buzzing after they came back from 1-0 down to beat Arsenal at the weekend and win 2-1. Neal Maupay was the hero at the death and the club have put 4 points between themselves and 16th place. Whilst Graham Potter’s side are not out of the woods, their latest win means that they have lost just once in their last 5 games, although three of those have finished in draws.

Team News:

Leicester: The only concern for Leicester is Daniel Praet who has a calf injury but is expected to be fine for this game

Brighton: The club have no new major concerns coming into this game

Leicester vs Brighton Prediction:

Even though this is a midweek game without any fans there are a lot of elements here to suggest that we could see a good game. Leicester showed much promise in their first match back, but looked rusty. In their own stadium and surroundings we expect them to attack even more and be more precise. They will want to put the Watford draw well behind them and the best remedy for that would be to win well here.

Brighton will come here in good spirits and there is no reason that they won’t give Leicester some pause for thought. However they are facing a superior team where they have a woeful record and it is hard to back against Rodgers side for this encounter.
