England Premier League
Tuesday 4th April 2023
Kick off at 7:45pm BST
Venue: Elland Road
Match Preview:
Leeds come into this crucial midweek game in 17th place but in fact they could be in the bottom three if Everton have beaten Tottenham on Monday evening, either way they need to pick up the wins and points. At the weekend they tried to hold their own but that was only going to be for so long as they were destroyed by league leaders Arsenal in a 4-1 battering.
Leeds will need to pick themselves up but at the same time they could have expected to lose away to Arsenal and being at home that is where they will need to pick up the three points. Form has been mixed and included two defeats from their last five and they earned 7 points from their last 15 which isn’t a terrible return for a team fighting to survive. Most of Leeds points have come at home with 17 from their haul of 26 and they have suffered just one defeat here from their last five however they are drawing too many games and their majority result at home is the draw, this includes their last match here which finished 2-2 against Brighton.
Nottingham Forest are in 15th place and just a point above Leeds coming into this week. At the weekend they drew 1-1 with Wolves which was a result neither side got much of an advantage from. Form has hit Forest hard with just two wins from their last 10 games and just 2 points won from their last 15 on offer. The club have a large squad granted but they also have many players out injured as they gamble with survival. On the road Forest have the worst record in the league with six points won from 39 and they have recorded just one victory so far. What has been astonishing is their lack of goals on the road with just 4 scored so far.

Leeds vs Nottm Forest Head to Head:
The last time the teams played this fixture was in the Championship in 2019 with that game finishing 1-1.
Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Nottingham Forest won 1-0.
The last three meetings have all seen under 2.5 goals.
Leeds vs Nottm Forest Prediction:
We will back Leeds to win the game, but it could be a close one. It is tough to back Nottingham Forest with such a poor record away from home and Leeds have been fairly stable this year, there big achilles heel though are the draws.
If Leeds fail to win this game it won’t bode well for the rest of the season and they are still among the favourties to be relegated. They need to take something even from the Arsenal game because they could well have taken the lead at one point. One would assume that the players will not be too down about that defeat though. As for Forest they still have a lot of injuries to contend with but could fancy their chances to take something from this game, at the end of the day Leeds have that extra season of experience and they will try to make it count.
