Kick off at 8pm BST
Venue: Elland Road
Match Preview:
Leeds haven’t just done well this season, you get the feeling they have punched above their weight, especially in the last month. At the beginning of the season before a ball was kicked Leeds would have been in the list to either be relegated or be involved in a relegation battle throughout the season. But from the very start you could see in the way Marcelo Bielsa’s team played that they had something extra.
Leeds first game of the season was at Anfield and though they lost they let the champions know that they had been in a game, as it ended 4-3 to Liverpool. Leeds next game involved another 4-3 scoreline, this time victory over Fulham, a side that will most probably be relegated very soon.
Bielsa’s team come into this game having won their last 3 matches, and last weekend was one for the memory banks as they beat Manchester City 2-1 away from home. This recent good form has moved Leeds into the top half of the table which would have been a dream objective for this season. If Arsenal don’t beat Fulham on Sunday then Leeds could go 8th with victory here.
At home Leeds have the 9th best record, have won 6 but also lost six, with three draws. Recent form is impressive after picking up 10 points from their last 15 here. The clubs last home win came against Sheffield United.
Liverpool are in 6th place and are 3 points behind West Ham in 4th, though after the Hammers defeat against Newcastle on Saturday Liverpool would go 4th with victory on Monday evening.
The Reds have found form and won their last 3 games, beating Wolves, Arsenal and Aston Villa. Though Jurgen Klopp’s side still look unconvincing at home, they will probably feel content for now that this is an away game. In midweek Liverpool had to play and that was the 2nd leg of their Champions League game against Real Madrid. The game ended goalless and Liverpool crashed out of the competition losing 3-1 on aggregate. Some more disappointment has been thrown into the Liverpool camp and that exit confirmed that the club will end up with no trophies this season.

Adam Forshaw has recovered from a long term knee injury but is now working on his fitness and remains a doubt for this game. Raphinha has a knock and will face an assessment. Liverpool: Curtis Jones will be assessed as he has a muscle injury but is being tipped to feature. Divock Origi has a muscle injury and is expected to miss this game. Jordan Henderson and Virgil van Dijk are out both long term.
Leeds vs Liverpool Head to Head:
The last time the clubs met at Leeds was in 2009 in the League Cup when Liverpool won 1-0.
The last league game to take place at Leeds was back in 2004 and that finished 2-2.
There is a 60% chance to see over 2.5 goals.
Leeds last beat Liverpool when at home in 2000 and that game finished 4-3.
Leeds vs Liverpool Prediction:
Ideally Leeds would have preferred this match to have taken place a few months ago when chaos was the order of the day at Liverpool and their league title was imploding around them. Since then the Reds have improved and a possible top four place looks on.
Liverpool have also looked solid away from home and come into this one having won 4 of their last 5 matches. We expect to see a game of goals here because Leeds form has been that good and they are sure to be fearless coming forward. At the same time Liverpool can obviously punish teams for playing like this and that is why we saw 7 goals when they last met.
The Reds have an objective for a top four place and need to take advantage of West Ham’s slip up, so we will back them to get the win, but like in their first meeting with Leeds they will surely know that they have been in a game.
Leeds vs Liverpool Betting Tips:
