Leeds vs Crystal Palace: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 9th April 2023
Kick off at 2pm BST
Venue: Elland Road

Match Preview:

Leeds will try to build on their midweek victory over Nottingham Forest by winning on Sunday and giving their title chances a huge boost. Leeds have climbed up to 13th place with 29 points and would go past Crystal Palace by beating them. Form for Leeds has been good with just one defeat in their last four and they have been able to pick up 7 points from their last 12.

At home 20 of Leeds 29 points have come at home and they are unbeaten in their last three games here. Including the win over Forest Leeds have also despatched Southampton and drew 2-2 with Brighton and it is clear that the players have responded at the right time.

Crystal Palace emotionally won Roy Hodgson’s first game back as manager ending a terrible barren spell of four defeats in a row and that victory put them on the 30 point marker. Palace came into this weekend in 12th place and yet because there is only a 3 point difference to the bottom three the Eagles could still go down. Away form has been disappointing with eight defeats and just two wins so far and the club has only been able to pick up 1 point on the road from their last 15 on offer.

Team News:

Leeds: Maximillian Wober looks likely to miss out again due to recovering from a hamstring injury. There are no other new concerns for the club however Tyler Roberts, Adam Forshaw and Stuart Dallas are all long term absentees.

Crystal Palace: Wilfried Zaha is out with a groin injury and not expected back for 3 weeks.Nathan Ferguson has a knock and while he may be assessed reports suggest that he will miss out again but could be back next week. Vicente Guaita has a calf injury and is not due back until the end of the month. Chris Richards has a knock and looks likely to miss out here but should be back next week.

Leeds vs Crystal Palace Head to Head:

Last season it was a close game but Leeds edged out Crystal Palace 1-0.

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Crystal Palace won 2-1.

It’s been 17 years since Crystal Palace beat Leeds away from home .

There is a 60% chance to see both teams to score.

Leeds vs Crystal Palace Prediction:

Leeds are looking slick and confident and we expect them to win this game. Home form hasn’t always been impressive but there has been a noticeable shift in recent weeks and that has to be respected. The team just seem clear of many of their problems and all their training has been paying dividends. It has also been noticeable how few injuries the club has had since the turn of the year and all of that has counted towards the players getting to know each other and gelling more.

A huge blow for the Eagles is the absence to forward Wilfried Zaha and when he is out they usually feel the gap. Palace also have a very poor record at Elland Road and we expect them to struggle and for Leeds to have much of the possession. The best bet here is for the home win and watch out for Luis Sinisterra who remains excellent value to score goals and has been putting them in of late.

Leeds vs Crystal Palace Betting Tips:
