Huddersfield vs Wolves: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Tuesday 26th February 2019
Kick off at 7.45pm GMT
Venue: Kirklees Stadium

Match Preview:

Huddersfield are 14 points from safety and even though in theory they have a chance to stay up, it just isn’t happening and they will be certainties to be relegated this season.

Their latest loss came at the weekend, 2-0 away to Newcastle in what was a predictable fare for the club. From the last 30 points they have picked up just 1 and have no wins in 2019. They have lost their last 5 games at home and 11 from 14 played and it is fair to say that their fans are resigned to relegation.

The story is very different for Wolves who have had a solid season and are trying to aim for a European place. There are in 8th place but only goal difference separates them from 7th and Watford. Nino Espirto Santos’ side are unbeaten in their last five games, although they did draw their last two coming into this game.

They are 29 points ahead of their hosts and away from home their recent record is very good with just one defeat in their previous five games and that was against Manchester City.

Team News:

Huddersfield: Tommy Smith is suspended for 3 games and misses this one due to his red card earlier this month. Erik Durm has a hip injury but will be assessed ahead of this match

Wolves: The club have no new injuries coming into this game

Huddersfield vs Wolves Head to Head:

Earlier this season Wolves won 2-0.

The last time the teams played at Huddersfield was in 2016 and the home team won 1-0.

The last 4 meetings have all been under 2.5 goals.

Wolves have just 1 win here in the last 4 attempts.

Huddersfield vs Wolves Prediction:

Wolves will be odds on favourites to win this game and their only real disappointment on the road in the last couple of months was drawing against Fulham. Otherwise they have beaten the likes of Everton and Tottenham. Even though Wolves are odds on when we see how poor Huddersfield have been lately it is still decent value odds and we will take them to win this game. Raul Jimenez for Wolves is in super form, having scored 4 goals in as many games and he should be backed to score anytime. He is 2.50 to score a goal which seems like generous odds to us given that he is about to come up against the 3rd poorest defence in the Premier League.

Huddersfield vs Wolves Betting Tips:

Wolves to beat Huddersfield at 1.80

Anytime goalscorer: Raul Jimenez at 2.50
