Huddersfield vs Tottenham: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 29th September 2018
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Kirklees Stadium

Match Preview:

Huddersfield have a very difficult game on their hands when they will welcome Tottenham on Saturday afternoon. The club are bottom of the league with no wins and have just 2 points from a possible 18.

Latest defeats for David Wagner’s team have come against Crystal Palace and Leicester and the fixtures are not becoming any easier for them as they come thick and fast. At home after 3 games they are yet to even score a goal, and if you’re not scoring goals that is a sure fire sign that you will be facing a relegation battle throughout the season.

Tottenham suffered a blip this month going 3 games without a win in all competitions so last weeks 2-1 win away to Brighton was a massive result for the club. It kept them in 5th place and restored some belief that despite the criticism they have a very good team. The club almost exited the Carabao Cup in midweek but after drawing 2-2 against Watford in a thrilling game they went through on penalties.

Spurs do have a major crisis in the goalkeeping department though. Hugo Lloris is out until next month and now Michel Vorm has been sidelined with a knee injury. In has stepped 3rd choice keeper Paulo Gazzaniga

Currently Tottenham have the best away record in the league with 3 wins and 1 loss from 4 games and are scoring on average 2 goals a game on the road.

Team News:

Huddersfield: Ramadan Sobhi is the only injury worry with a knee problem and won’t be back until the beginning of October

Tottenham: Serge Aurier has a minor leg problem and may miss this game. Hugo Lloris remains sidelined for at least 10 more days. 2nd goalkeeper Michael Vorm picked up a knee injury in the win over Brighton

Huddersfield vs Tottenham Head to Head:

Last season Tottenham won this fixture 4-0.

Tottenham have scored 6 goals against Huddersfield in their last two meetings.

Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son have been responsible for scoring 4 of the 6 goals in the last two games.

Huddersfield vs Tottenham Prediction:

Huddersfield are really poor and are coming up against a quality Tottenham side. This would be a big shock if Tottenham were to drop points here and after going to Brighton which isn't an easy place for any team to go to and picking up all three points we feel that Tottenham can come here and get a positive result. We may still be in September but at this moment this already feels like it could be a long hard struggle for Huddersfield to remain in the Premier League.

Huddersfield vs Tottenham Betting Tips:

Tottenham to beat Huddersfield with a -1 goal handicap start at 2.10

Tottenham to score 3+ goals at 2.63
