England Premier League
Saturday 15th December 2018
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Kirklees Stadium
Match Preview:
Last weekend Huddersfield made it very hard work for Arsenal and the match which took place at The Emirates looked like it would finish 0-0 until man of the moment Lucas Torreira’s winner with seven minutes to go and Huddersfield lost the game 1-0.
That defeat means the team come into this game having lost 3 matches in a row and they are in the bottom three as a result. A win at the weekend would almost certainly see them escape it, just like they did a few weeks ago when they beat Wolves. The encouraging signs for the club is that they are not getting destroyed and are just losing by the odd goal. The problem is that they have only scored 10 goals all season which tells its own story.
Newcastle have had a poor run of results and they are just three positions and 3 points above their hosts. They have not won a game since beating Burnley on November 26th. Form has dipped just like it did at the beginning of the season.
What has been interesting for Rafa Benitez’s team is that their recent away record has been solid with just 1 loss from their past five games. Most have been draws and they have only won 6 points from the 15 available, but they have built up some impressive results including drawing away to Crystal Palace, Southampton and Everton.
