Match Preview:

The early evening Saturday game will see Huddersfield welcome Liverpool in an encounter which on paper looks like will be another victory for Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Huddersfield have been very poor this season, are yet to win a game, and are in 18^th place on 3 points- already 17 adrift of Liverpool. They come into this game having lost 3 of their last 4 matches and at home they have 1 point from a possible 12. In some ways what is worse is that they have failed to score at home so far and have conceded 6.

Liverpool are in 3^rd place but that won’t bother them given that it is only on goal difference and they share the same points (20) as Manchester City and Chelsea. Their 6 game winning run in the league came to an end in their last couple of matches but there will be no complaints in getting two draws against tough fixtures such as Chelsea and Manchester City, and in the Chelsea game the Reds were headed for defeat.

Liverpool remain unbeaten in the league and have beaten the likes of Tottenham and Leicester away from home, indeed they have gained 10 points from the 12 available on the road.

Huddersfield: There are a few players that are due back with the club or at least will be assessed after minor injuries they are; Lowe, Aaron Mooy, Ramadan Sobhi and Tommy Smith. Danny Williams is training again ahead of this game after his knee injury

Liverpool: Liverpool have some genuine concerns ahead of this game. Mohamed Salah has a muscle strain and could miss this game. Virgil van Dijk is due back but has a problem with his ribs. Naby Keita could miss this game after picking up a thigh injury on international duty. Sadio Mane could play despite having a hand injury. James Milner is out for at least another 3 weeks.

Liverpool will want to start quickly in this game. They have some serious issues with injuries although some of these will not be confirmed until the last minute so the likes of Mohamed Salah playing may not come as a shock. Still the Reds are more than capable of winning this game with the quality that they have. However they also have a Champions League game in their minds but this season is all about the league for them. Huddersfield will fight in this game but are set to simply be outclassed.
