Fulham vs Wolves: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Wednesday 26th December 2018
Kick off at 12.30pm GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

While the rest of Europe takes a rest the Premier League continues its tradition of Christmas period games and Fulham and Wolves will kick it off with this lunchtime game on Boxing Day.

This past weekend Fulham earned a very good 0-0 draw away to Newcastle. It was The Cottagers first points since the beginning of December. Claudio Ranieri’s team were not pretty on the eye but the most impressive statistic was that his back four did not let Newcastle have one shot on target. Looking at that it is clear that Ranieri has set up his team to avoid relegation through having a mean defence. Although his side have conceded 42 goals this season the most in the league.

Fulham are now 4 points from safety, but there is time to claw that back and they can start at home against Wolves. However they have won just 2 of their 8 games played here.

Wolves are in 10th place and 15 points clear of their hosts. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team lost last weekend 2-0 to Liverpool which was half expected, although unfortunate given that they had gone on an impressive 3 game winning run beforehand.

The away side have had plenty of ups and downs already but if they can focus after the Liverpool defeat they can cause Fulham many problems. However they have won just 1 game from their last 4 on the road.

Team News:

Fulham: There is still no official news on Ryan Sessegnon, but it was hopeful that the player would be available for this match after his groin injury. Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa is out for at least another 10 days with a knock

Wolves: No new updates on Dioga Jota who is suffering with a hamstring injury but looks set to miss this game. Otherwise there are no new major injuries for the club

Fulham vs Wolves Head to Head:

Last season when the teams were in The Championship this game ended 2-0 to Fulham.

This was Fulham’s first win in any competition against Wolves since 2015 over 6 games.

In the last 7 meetings there has been 27 goals.

Fulham vs Wolves Prediction:

This should be a very close game and a physical one, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the yellow card come out a few times. For Fulham this is like a Cup final and if the players respond just like they did at Newcastle we could see a positive result. We will back them to be leading at half time. We will also back under 2.5 goals in the hope that Ranieri’s defence produce another solid display like they did in their last match.

Fulham vs Wolves Betting Tips:

Half Time Result: Fulham at 3.50

Under 2.5 goals at 1.72
