Fulham vs West Brom: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Monday 2nd November 2020
Kick off at 5:30pm GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

Though we've only had six games of the new league season so far the signs are not looking good for Fulham who come into this game in 19th place and have earned just 1 point so far.

That draw came against Sheffield United away from home. At Craven Cottage the club have the worst record in the league losing every game and scoring just once whilst conceding 8. It is hard to see what manager Scott Parker can change with the squad of players he has. The Cottagers will already be amongst the favourites to be relegated and Parker will need to install some confidence in his players and try out diffrent training methods or they could quickly get stuck in a long term rut.

West Bromwich Albion are hardly any better than their hosts and come into this game in 17th place with no wins this season, 3 draws and 3 defeats has seen a poor start from the Baggies. Possibly one shining light is that the club have lost just once in their last four games, with the others being draws against the likes of Brighton, Burnley and Chelsea with the obvious stand out draw being against Frank Lampard’s team. That is a show of fight in the club and Slaven Bilic is one of the most passionate managers in the league.

West Brom have actually played some good football but have looked very naive at the back, but they will look at this game and fancy their chances to pick up their first victory of the season.

Team News:

Fulham: Joachim Andersen has made a speedy recovery from an ankle injury a few weeks ago and may even be assessed ahead of this match. Aboubakar Kamara is suspended for 3 games after his red card last weekend and will miss this game. Neeskens Kebano is ruled out of this match for an unspecified reason.

West Bromwich Albion: Sam Field is ruled out for at least a month with a knee injury. Hal Robson-Kanu is still out with his arm injury and he isn’t expected back for at least another three weeks.

Fulham vs West Brom Head to Head:

The last time the clubs met here the game finished 1-1.

The last 4 meetings have all finished in draws.

Fulham have not lost to West Bromwich Albion at home in a league game since 1967.

Fulham vs West Brom Prediction:

There is no doubt that West Brom come into this game with a pinch more confidence than Fulham and we could make them the slight favourites to win here. But in truth there is nothing much between the two clubs. We shouldn’ expect to see a great game of football as Fulham need to be cautious and will defend in numbers. History is on Scott Parker’s side since it has been 53 years without a home defeat to WBA in the league but that counts for nothing.

This will be such a tight game and the fact that neither club has tasted victory yet it may be worth our while to look into different markets.
