Fulham vs Nottm Forest: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Wednesday 6th December 2023
Kick off at 7:30pm GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

Fulham almost pulled off a real surprise at the weekend away to Liverpool in a game that finished with seven goals. The Cottagers just kept coming back but couldn’t find one more goal as they lost 4-3. These types of defeats while earning no points will not have felt like bad defeat in the dressing room afterwards and Marco Silva will be hoping that his side can carry some good momentum into this game with Forest.

Fulham will need all the confidence they have as recent form has seen the Cottagers lose 3 of their last four games. There is one win sandwiched in between those and that was their last home game which finished in a win over Wolves. Goals recently have not been the problem for Silva’s side who have scored 6 in their last two games. Fulham are in 14th place with 15 points and are 8 clear of the bottom three but this would feel like a huge three points if they could win in midweek.

Nottingham Forest are a place below their hosts but are two points behind and the clubs future in the league remains uncertain. They have lost their last 3 games with their latest ending in a home 1-0 defeat at the hands of Everton. At this moment in time Forest look a bit lost and on form they would be bottom with just 3 points won from their last five games and only seven from their last 30 points available. On the road Forest have won just once and have earned only one point in their last four games.

Team News:

Fulham: Matthew Dibley-Dias is only 50/50 to return from his hamstring injury. Rodrigo Muniz is being pencilled in to return next weekend but there has been no update as of yet. Issa Diop, Tyrese Francois and Adama Traore are all out long term.

Nottingham Forest: Danilo remains a doubt with illness, Willy Boly, Murillo and Chris Wood are all on the fringe of returning but will have to be assessed. Taiwo Awoniyi is out for the next 2 months at least due to a groin injury.

Fulham vs Nottm Forest Prediction:

We will be backing Fulham to win this game although we do expect to witness a close game. Nottingham Forest are going through a poor patch and this wasn’t an easy game for them to navigate last season. It’s true that Fulham’s current record at home is 3 wins but also 3 defeats but when you go away to Liverpool and score 3 goals even in defeat that is encouraging. The bottom line is that Fulham are scoring goals and that always points to a healthy team and the focus looks good in the squad.

As for Forest they are dealing with some injuries again but have a large squad and they did come close to scoring against Everton in their defeat. But this is a team who seem to be struggling for everything at the moment and we would be surprised if they were able to pick themselves up and get anything from this one.
