Fulham vs Man City: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Sunday 30th April 2023
Kick off at 2pm BST
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

Fulham are in 10th and look set to finish in the top half of the table and many fans of the club would have taken that at the start of the season. With 45 points currently it looks like the Cottagers will just miss out on European football next season but they have given a lot to the cause and at times been one of the most impressive sides in the league. The second half to the season has been a struggle at times and they have lost 3 of their last five games including losing 1-0 at Aston Villa in midweek but they will push on and try to reach the 50 point marker for the season.

Marco Silva’s side have won seven of their games at home so far and won their last when they beat Leeds 2-1, however that was their first win here in 4 games and there have been recent losses to both Arsenal and West Ham. Manchester City underlined their champions status as they thrashed league leaders Arsenal 4-1 and in the two games where they have faced the Gunners City have scored 7 goals. As it stands the champions have 73 points but would go top with a win here as Arsenal don’t play until Tuesday evening, so there is huge motivation for the club to get the win. City look like they are in the driving seat for a 3rd title in a row because they are two points behind Arsenal but have 2 games in hand.

Pep Guardiola’s side have been absolutely relentless in their quest for the title and have won 8 games in a row, gathering up an incredible 28 points from their last 30 on offer and that is clearly champions form. The club has scored 15 goals in their last four games and away from home they have won 30 points from 15 games and have won their last 3.

Team News:

Fulham: Harry Wilson has been ill but is expected to be fine for this game. Willian is only 50/50 to return from his hamstring, Aleksandar Mitrovic is suspended and is not due back for another two weeks.

Manchester City: Nathan Ake will miss out because of his hamstring but he is the only injury concern for the champions and he could be back next week.

Fulham vs Man City Head to Head:

Last season Manchester City won this game 3-0.

Manchester City have scored 9 goals past Fulham in the last 3 games.

Manchester City have won the last 13 games against Fulham in a row and the Cottagers have not beaten City since 2009.

Fulham vs Man City Prediction:

Earlier in the season Manchester City did not have their usual flow facing Fulham before the World Cup break away from home, and that game could have been more competitive. Shocks can happen but this would be huge because Fulham are coming up against possibly the best side in Europe right now. City are able to flick the switch to champions mode and they have been on it for a good two months now and there doesn’t seem to be any let up. That doesn’t mean that Marco Silva’s side are not a good team because they are but at the business end of the season we see only one winner here and City will want to get an early goal just to silence the home fans. We are reminded that City came here last season and won 3-0 and league title challengers got the same scoreline against Fulham too, we expect much the same to happen here.

Erling Haaland as ever is firing in the goals and back him to get two or more at a decent price. City to win is predictably out of bounds and odds on but backing the ht/ft is a solid market that gives the odds better value so it is best to go for that.

Fulham vs Man City Betting Tips:

Half Time/Full Time: Manchester City/Manchester City at 1.70

Erling Haaland to score 2+goals at 2.70

Half Time Correct Score: 1-0 or 2-0 to Manchester City at 3.25 and 4.50
