England Premier League
Saturday 30th March 2019
Kick off at 12:30pm GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage
Match Preview:
Recently in a sports poll conducted by a leading newspaper Scott Parker was named as the worst manager in the Premier League. Considering that he has only been in charge for a few weeks at Fulham and came into a team with a lack of cohesion and confidence, naming him as the worst manager seems harsh.
The Cottagers have been in poor form with 5 straight defeats but they have given the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool a run for their money only losing those games 2-1. Of course the reality of the situation is that Fulham will be getting relegated this season, they are in 19th and 13 points from safety and this weekend they will be facing the champions of England. All Fulham can do now is try to enjoy their football and make life frustrating for their opponents who really need the points.
Manchester City are two points behind Liverpool but have a game in hand. A win here could strike a psychological advantage to Pep Guardiola’s side who would go one point above Liverpool who have to play on Sunday.
City are on fire having won their last 5 consecutive games, away from home they have won 4 of their last 5 games, and they have the 3rd best away record in the league where they are almost scoring on average 2 goals a game.
Team News:
Fulham: The only problem for Fulham is Alfie Mawson who won’t be back until April after a lack of match fitness
Manchester City: Kevin De Bruyne is expected back after his hamstring injury before the international break, though it is not confirmed if he will be able to start the game. Fabian Delph is rated at 50/50 to be included after his knock. Fernandinho has a muscle injury but is expected back Vincent Kompany has the same problem. Nicolas Otamendi has an ankle sprain and Benjamin Mendy has a knee injury but all are expected to be ok for the weekend. John Stones has a groin injury and could miss this game
