England Premier League
Saturday 23rd December 2023
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage
Match Preview:
Midweek was huge for Fulham who went to a rampant and in form Everton side and knocked them out of the EFL Cup to make it to the semi-finals. It was a close tight game and a scare for Fulham who had been leading 1-0 for the majority of the game until Everton equalised with ten minutes to go. The game then went to penalties and the Londoners won 7-6. Fulham have not tasted a cup final since 1975, and next month they will find out if they can make it.
In the league Marco Silva’s side lost their 8th game of the season with a 3-0 defeat away to Newcastle, but this is a club who will remain realistic. Going to Newcastle is never easy and nine times out of ten for Fulham will result in dropped points but their strength is their recent home form which has seen back to back 5-0 victories which have come against Nottingham Forest and West Ham. Silva’s side have also won their last 3 home games in a row and will be tipped to make that 4 given that their next opponents are Burnley.
The Clarets continue to struggle in the league and come into this game in 19th place and are six points from safety. Last weekend they were beaten 2-0 at home to Everton with just 4 points won from their last 15. On the road Burnley have earned 5 points and at home it is 3. The club have managed to lose 5 from 8 games away from home but they did pull off an impressive 1-1 draw at Brighton in their last away game.

Fulham vs Burnley Prediction:
Clubs like Fulham get these moments in the season when they start to find good form especially at home. It is why these clubs can survive one season but go down the next, and recent home form for the Cottagers has been irresistible and they will be the favourites to despatch a poor Burnley side who quite frankly look lost at sea. You’d have to worry if you are Vincent Kompany knowing you are about to go into a stadium where they have scored 13 goals in their past three games and that you have a side who are averaging almost 2 goals conceded per game.
We don’t see much chance for Burnley in this game, and the way Fulham stay up is the same way Burnley does, it’s about the home games, and Fulham look in a much better position to do that. It should be noted of course that Burnley have had some positive results over Fulham in recent years but coming into this game the home side look on a different level, though the loss for 3 games for forward Raul Jimenez will be a blow given that he was starting to score again.
Fulham vs Burnley Betting Tips:
