Fulham vs Brighton: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Tuesday 29th January 2019
Kick off at 7.45pm GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

Fulham come into this game in trouble as they have lost their last 3 in a row and are in 19th place. Claudio Ranieri’s men will feel that they were unlucky in their last match here which finished in a last minute 2-1 defeat against Tottenham and they will need all three points in what looks like being a tricky fixture.

The Cottagers are a massive 7 points from safety and brining in Ranieri has not helped the club as they continue to struggle. The Italian will realise that it will be ultimately their home form that will count against them as they try to survive in the Premier League.

Recent matches have been postive in front of their home fans with a win over Huddersfield and they picked up points against Wolves and Leicester. However they need to improve on the 3 wins they have so far.

Brighton have just 1 win in their past five games and have fallen to 13th in the table. They have lost back to back games coming into this one, although they had tough matches against Liverpool and Manchester United. It was interestng to note that both were very close, a 1-0 loss to Liverpool and a 2-1 defeat to United.

Chris Hughton’s side have been a handful at home but away they have been very poor and they have lost 8 times from just 12 games. Their last win on the road came against the bottom side Huddersfield at the beginning of December.

Team News:

Fulham: The club have no new injuries coming into this game

Fulham vs Brighton Prediction:

This game will tell us if Fulham have the mental strength to stay in the league. They have had to face some very tough opposition lately and have lost. This time they are at home against a team in 13th position. How much do the players want this, are they motivated enough? Brighton are a decent side but they are very poor on the road, it is up to Fulham to take advantage of that and try and save their season. The bottom line for The Cottagers is that home form can still save them. However we will cautiously back Brighton on the Double Chance due to their superior form. We will also back Brighton’s Glenn Murray to score, he has netted 3 times over Fulham in the last three games including a brace the last time they met.
