Fulham vs Brighton: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Wednesday 16th December 2020
Kick off at 8pm GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

It’s clear that Scott Parker is doing something right behind the scenes at Fulham and he knows he has a limited squad in terms of quality but Fulham are going to give some fight this season and their recent results have been very encouraging.

At the weekend they drew 1-1 with champions Liverpool and were in fact on the way to victory before giving away the token penalty to let Liverpool off the hook. Still a point against Jurgen Klopp’s team would have been taken before the game and one has to wonder if the Cottagers have not turned the corner?

On form Fulham have picked up 4 points from their last 9, that’s not outstanding but it is something to grasp on to for the club. A win in midweek could well secure their place out of the bottom three for now and at home they will feel confident of getting just their 2nd win of the season.

Brighton come into this game in 16th place and are only 2 points ahead of Fulham. They haven’t tasted victory in 3 games and have lost their last two matches in a row. Last weekend Brighton lost their sixth game of the season as they lost 3-0 at Leicester and they have conceded 5 goals in their last two games.

Like Fulham, Brighton drew against Liverpool and that is interesting to see that we have two sides in the lower half of the league that have told everyone that they will fight until the end. Away from home the club have lost 50% of their games but they did beat Aston Villa recently and remain a danger here.

Team News:

Fulham: There are no new concerns for the Cottagers but Aleksandar Mitrovic has an ankle injury though he is expected to be ready for this match there has been no confirmation.

Brighton: Adam Lallana is being tipped to return for this match. Tariq Lamptey had a slight muscle problem but should be fine to make this game.

Fulham vs Brighton Head to Head:

The last time the clubs met in the league here in 2019 Fulham won 4-2.

Brighton have won 5 times against Fulham from the last seven meetings.

The last four meetings have seen both teams to score.

Fulham vs Brighton Prediction:

This is a real opportunity for Scott Parker’s side to get three points and you feel that if they make mistakes here and lose the match then it takes all the hard work they put in to get a point against Liverpool.

These matches even at this early stage of the campaign can be the real difference between staying up and going down. We feel there will be goals in this game, and that it will be evenly matched and wouldn't be surprised to see a score draw.

Fulham vs Brighton Betting Tips:

Goal line (Over 2) at 1.50

Full time result (Draw) at 3.30
