Fulham vs Bournemouth: Preview & Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 10th February 2024
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Craven Cottage

Match Preview:

Fulham have won just one game in their last five but are still in a decent position of 13th and with 26 points already to their name are already looking safe. The Cottagers are seven points clear of the drop and just because they are struggling for wins lately doesn’t mean they haven’t been playing well. The club's last two games have ended in draws against Everton and Burnley. But this game strikes anyone as interesting given that it is 13th against 12th. Fulham’s majority result at home has been wins and they have recorded six here from 11 games and on home form alone they would scrape into the top half of the table.

Bournemouth’s form has been almost the same as their hosts but their good form towards the end of last year seems to have deserted them. However the good news is that their form was so good they are another side who seem to have done the groundwork earlier in the season and this should pay dividends later on. Both clubs would have been aware at the beginning of the season that they could be contenders to be relegated and for now that is not the case at all. Like Fulham Bournemouth have drawn their last two games which came against Nottingham Forest and West Ham and away from home the Cherries most common result is defeat with five so far. However the club’s recent away form has been stable with just one defeat in their last five outings and that includes beating Manchester United 3-0.

Team News:

Fulham: Armando Broja and Adama Traore could both be assessed to return, Calvin Bassey is on international duty as is Alex Iwobi. Raul Jimenez and Issa Diop are both out with hamstring injuries with no fixed return date. Harry Wilson is not due back for two weeks due to a shoulder injury

Bournemouth: Philip Billing is suspended and not due back until next month. Ryan Christie could return from a dead leg and will be assessed. James Hill is likely to miss the next five weeks with an ankle injury. Tyler Adams remains sidelined, Maximillian Aarons and Ryan Fredericks are still missing with respective hamstring and calf injuries

Fulham vs Bournemouth Head to Head:

Last season this fixture finished 2-2.

Earlier in the season in the reverse fixture Bournemouth won 3-0.

It’s been six games going back to 2019 since Fulham recorded a victory over Bournemouth.

There is a 60% chance to see both teams to score.

Fulham vs Bournemouth Prediction:

This is a very equal game and we don’t expect to see much between the sides. It would be interesting to see how they both approach a game because this is not deemed as a risky one with both sides being in healthy positions if not spectacular ones. Bournemouth have certainly had joy against Fulham in recent seasons but let’s have some caution because there have also been a few draws between the sides.

We have been impressed with the Cherries recent away form though and they could pose a problem for Fulham, questions will certainly be asked of the home side but this remains a game very close to call. We will go with the home side but for extra safety cover the draw on the refund.
