Everton vs Norwich: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 23rd November 2019
Kick off at 3pm GMT
Venue: Goodison Park

Match Preview:

Everton need objectives and one of those was reached before the break when they beat Southampton, the other has to be winning this game at home against Norwich who apart from the odd speed bump have been poor this season.

Marco Silva’s job remains under threat and a win really is the only acceptable result here. Everton are in 15th place but must remain optimistic given that they could climb into the top 10 with a win. The club have won 7 points from their last 15 and at home they have at least gone their last 2 matches without defeat after a win against West Ham and a draw against Tottenham.

Predicting Silva’s final line ups has been fascinating as he has continued to chop and change but what the fans would like to see is probably two up front and more attacking options from the team. Often playing two defensive midfielders has probably been the biggest frustration for fans.

Norwich have gone bottom of the league after their battle with Watford ended in defeat, and they come into this game having lost their last 3 in a row. They have conceded 7 goals in those games and scoring just once and clearly the signs are not good for the newly promoted side.

On the road the club they are yet to win and have lost 5 of their six matches. They have only scored 1 goal and are conceding on average 2 goals a game.

Team News:

Everton: Fabian Delph is 50/50 to take part in this game after his hamstring injury and is likely to be assessed. Cenk Tosun has a groin injury but there is encouragement he could be available for Silva’s side

Norwich: Josip Drmic has a hamstring injury but will be assessed. Grant Hanley remains at 50/50 for his return and Kenny McLean is expected to play after suffering a slight knock on international duty

Everton vs Norwich Head to Head:

The teams have not played each other since 2016 at Goodison Park and that match ended 2-0 to Norwich.

Everton have won 3 from the last 4 games played at home v Norwich.

In the league Norwich have no wins at Everton in over 15 years.

Everton vs Norwich Prediction:

Is anything ever straight forward in football? Well this game should be. Simply put Everton have struggled this season but not as badly as their opponents and they have far the superior side. What caught the eye in Everton’s last two games has been the determination to come back. We saw it against Tottenham and then again when Southampton had pulled back for 1-1 and Everton went onto win the game. Richarlison scored that day and we think this match is set up for him again to do well. Everton should comfortably win this one, however comfortably winning is not Everton's strong point.

Everton vs Norwich Betting Tips:
