England Premier League
Saturday 5th November 2022
Kick off at 5:30pm GMT
Venue: Goodison Park
Match Preview:
Everton have recovered from losing 3 games in a row and have gone unbeaten in their last two after a win over Crystal Palace and a draw against Fulham. Both were tricky games and they will be happy to have got four points and kept two clean sheets. With 12 goals conceded Everton have one of the best defensive records in the league and they will be happy to return home to face Leicester.
Everton are in 12th place but they will be weary of that as they are only 3 points from the bottom three and now is the time to try and put a gap to the bottom three. Everton could move up a couple of places with victory on Saturday and would move past Liverpool their eternal nemesis who have to play the following day. At home Everton have had more joy this season with 8 points earned although just two wins from six games played but it’s also just one defeat from their last five here.
Leicester lost last weekend but that was against Manchester City and it only finished 1-0. Apart from that defeat against the champions form has improved though with the threat of Brendan Rodgers job being at risk and they have picked up 7 points from their last four games. The Foxes are 18th and still in the relegation zone though and their away form overall has not been good losing 5 of their six games played. However they did win their last game on the road beating Aston Villa 4-0 and they have managed to score at least one goal in every away game so far.
Team News:
Everton: There are no new injuries for the club but they remain without Yerry Mina, Ben Godfrey and Andros Townsend who are all out until at least after the World Cup.
Leicester: Jonny Evans could return from his calf injury but Ryan Bertrand and Ricardo Pereira remain out long term.
Everton vs Leicester Head to Head:
The teams drew 1-1 last season.
It’s been 3 years since Leicester beat Everton.
The last 3 games in a row have seen both teams to score.
There is a 60% chance to see over 2.5 goals.
Everton vs Leicester Prediction:
Last season Everton almost lost this game and it took a last minute goal from Richarlison to claim a draw, in that game Everton were outplayed, although they did win the away game. Everton have been solid but not outstanding at home but they look comfortable especially in defence and they will be the favourites to win this game. There is now more of a threat from Leicester though than there was a month ago and the Foxes have certainly improved, Jamie Vardy has scored recently too after a barren spell so that is good for him. As for Everton they have a strong side to take on the Foxes and three points will be expected, the goal for the club has to be to finish strongly before the World Cup break and two wins from the remaining two games would take them to 20 points, a huge improvement on last season and good going forward when the season resumes on December 26th. But that is for now all by and by and the club need to remain focused. As proved against Crystal Palace if they can score early they can get a few and Everton have become difficult to play against at home and despite Leicester taking steps forward we see a home victory this weekend for the Toffees.
