Everton vs Huddersfield: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 1st September 2018
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Goodison Park

Match Preview:

For all of the excitement that has surrounded Everton in recent weeks with their summer captures and a new manager it has in reality been a bit of a stop start opening few weeks for the Toffees. This has largely been because they keep getting players sent off.

In the first week against Wolves it was Phil Jageilka and then last weekend at Bournemouth Richarlison saw red for a foul with his head, which many pundits felt was harsh on the Brazilian. Richarlison will be a big miss for Everton as he had scored 3 goals already this season and will miss 2 league games. He also missed the Carabao Cup match this week but Everton won 3-1 against Rotherham to move into the next round.

Huddersfield’s 0-0 draw against Cardiff was their first points of their season and was very much welcomed. The club were coming off of a hammering v Manchester City which ended 6-1 and started their campaign by losing 3-0 at home to Chelsea. On paper this looks like anothr hard game for the club as the fixtures start to come thick and fast.

Everton vs Huddersfield Prediction:

Everton have the better quality but they have a huge list of injuries that will hamper this game. That doesn’t mean they can’t win it but we shouldn’t expect an exciting match and the home side will have to dig very deep to get a win. But a win is what will be expected of them. Our main bet though will be to see more goals in the 2nd half of this game, because we expect a dull fixture here, where the away side will play for a draw.
