Everton vs Fulham: Preview and Prediction

England Premier League
Saturday 29th September 2018
Kick off at 3pm BST
Venue: Goodison Park

Match Preview:

Whilst it is true that Everton have had to deal with suspensions and injuries on the face of it this has not been the start Marco Silva would have been hoping for, however there are definite signs of improvement in comparison to last season. With just one win so far this season against Southampton, some would say this simply has not been good enough, but this team is in transition and needs time and patience to really benefit from Marco Silva's guidance. Changes don't work overnight but the club come into this game in 12th place and 12 points behind their rivals and league leaders Liverpool.

The Toffee Men have now gone 4 games without a win and have lost back to back games against West Ham and Arsenal respectively. They will be looking to get back on track against Fulham at Goodison Park, and will all due respect to Slavisa Jokanovic’s team Everton will be expected to get the win but Fulham are no pushovers.

Fulham could become the 3rd London team to beat Everton in a row and if they win they will leapfrog their hosts in the league. The Cottagers have no wins in their last 3 games which stretches back to the end of August and last weekend they drew 1-1 at home to Watford. They were cheered up in midweek when they went to Millwall in the Carabao Cup and came out 3-1 winners.

Team News:

Everton: Seamus Coleman has a foot injury and looks doubtful for the game. Andre Gomes has a hamstring injury. Phil Jageilka has resumed training following his knee injury. Yerry Mina has had another setback and looks set to miss out again.

Fulham: Defender Alfie Mawson is doubtful with a back injury.

Everton vs Fulham Head to Head:

The teams have not met at Goodison in the league since 2013 where Everton won 4-1.

Everton have scored 7 goals against Fulham in their last 2 meetings.

Fulham have no wins at Goodison Park this century.

Everton vs Fulham Prediction:

Everton have had their troubles on and off the pitch but this seems like the perfect game in which they can exorcise some of those problems and we expect all three points for them. Everton have a good set up and good team when everyone is fit and pulling together and they owe their home fans a good performance and a win after their recent results. Richarlison has been a little quiet and this is the match where he can really test the opponent and get back on the score sheets.
