England Premier League
Sunday 14th February 2021
Kick off at 7pm GMT
Venue: Goodison Park
Match Preview:
Everton have scored 8 goals in their last two games and against very good opposition in Manchester United and Tottenham and will be the favourites to win this game on Sunday.
Their FA Cup tie against Tottenham in midweek at Goodison Park will surely go down as an all-time classic. Everton eventually won 5-4 in a fantastic yo-yo match that featured some great goals. Everton were actually losing the match but came back strong to go 3-1 up only for Tottenham to score one just before half time which gave the London team some hope. In the second half they pulled it back to 3-3, Everton went 4-3 up and Tottenham made it 4-4 near the end through Harry Kane. But Everton would get through with a goal from Bernard in extra time. It was just fantastic stuff from Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
The quarter finals of the FA Cup are now here for the club and they are 3 wins away from winning their first trophy in 26 years. One can also take away from the game that Richarlison scored and that would be so beneficial for the Brazilian coming back into the league games because he has looked under par of late,
While Everton are in seventh place they have 2 games in hand and in theory could be as high as 4th but a win at the weekend could see them pass Chelsea if they fail to win their game. Everton would also go past West Ham as the Hammers do not play until Monday. Everton have 8 points from their last 15 but home form has to be questioned this season with just 40% of games won and 14 points from a possible 30. Everton have not won at home in almost 2 months when they beat Arsenal.
Fulham are in 18th and have slipped 8 points from safety, their last game would have been seen as a good point as they drew 0-0 against West Ham in a dire encounter. The Cottagers have earned just 3 points- all draws, from their last 15. It’s just 1 victory so far on the road for Scott Parker’s side however the club has remained undefeated in their last 4 away games drawing them all. The most impressive of those was a draw away to Tottenham. Fulham have not lost on the road since being beat at Manchester City over 2 months ago, which given their position, is very impressive.
Team News:
Everton: Allan is 50/50 through some fitness issues but could have some part in the game. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been ruled out with a hamstring injury but is expected to return next week. Lucas Digne has a knock and will be assessed. Jordan Pickford has been out lately with a rib injury and is only 50/50 to comeback for this game.
Fulham: No new injuries for the club but Tom Cairney (knee) and Terence Kongolo (hamstring) are still out.
Everton vs Fulham Head to Head:
The last time the clubs played here was in 2018 when Everton won 3-0.
Everton beat Fulham away earlier in the season winning 3-2.
There is a 50% chance to see over 3.5 goals.
Everton vs Fulham Prediction:
Everton will be the favourites and they should win this game. The only concern has been the amount of points dropped against teams one would have expected Everton to have beat. A 40% win rate at home isn’t going to cut it in the long run if Everton have plans to finish high up in the table, and this needs to be corrected.
Fulham have an abysmal record away to Everton and if the home side start with purpose there really looks like being no chance for the away side to make an impact in this game. We are going to go for Richarlison to get a goal, the cup goals would have given him a sense of confidence and that is good news for the club to see that. With Calvert-Lewin out for this one the Brazilian may feel he needs to push forward more.
Everton’s price to win looks incredible at evens and that really should be snapped up.
Everton vs Fulham Betting Tips:
