Match Preview:
Looking at Everton’s home record doesn’t make easy reading and after their first four games of the season they have lost all four. The worry is that apart from Arsenal coming here and winning the other teams that the Toffees have fallen against could all well finish in the bottom half of the table. There have been defeats against Fulham and Wolves but the latest loss felt like a new low for Sean Dyche’s side. It came last weekend against Luton who are the favourites to be relegated this season. That was also Luton’s first win of the season. Everton found themselves 2-0 down in a game they eventually lost 2-1.
The defeat was a blow also because it seemed that Everton had turned their fortunes around. They had won their previous game in the league beating Brentford 3-1 away from home and then had followed that up by knocking out Aston Villa in the EFL Cup also away from home. Overall Everton’s away form has been poor over the last few seasons and they have had to rely on their home form to stay up, but so far their home form has been incredibly poor. Are there silver linings? Well the club could have been a few goals up before Luton got their first and Everton haven’t always played as poor as their current position of 16th shows. But you can’t keep running the hard luck story and Everton are going to need to focus and focus quickly if they have any desire to remain in the top flight this season.
Bournemouth are searching for their first win of the season but they have drawn three of their games and are just a point behind their hosts. But the losses have been coming heavy lately and include losing 3-1 to Brighton and last weekend they plummeted 4-0 at home against Arsenal. Already 15 goals have flown into the Bournemouth net and they are in 19th place. A lot can change this weekend though and if the Cherries were to win here they could well be swapping places with Everton.

Everton vs Bournemouth Prediction:
Each week seems to be the time that Everton are going to click and start winning games, but we have already perhaps had one false dawn with the club in their win over Brentford being followed up by a dreadful loss at home to Luton. Despite this it is true that Everton are creating chances and perhaps on another day they would have eased past Luton but the chances need to start converting into goals and it is remarkable that the club have only been able to score one goal at home in four attempts.
You have to wonder how Bournemouth will look at this game, they lost here last season but actually have a very decent record over Everton in the last few years. This away match represents a tricky one but at the same time they are going to look at Everton’s results at home this season and believe they have a chance. The home side are a good price to win and this could and should pay dividends at one point especially with the amount of chances they have been creating at home. Surely the poor run at home can’t go on much longer, can it?
