Single #39 Preview:Napoli have had a bit of a reminder recently that they are still a little bit behind the real giant clubs like Juventus and Real madrid, as Juventus beat them 3-1 in the 1st leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, and Real Madrid beat them 3-1 in both legs of their Champions league tie. Generally speaking though, Napoli haven't done too much wrong in terms of their domestic Serie A performances, currently battling AS Roma for 2nd position and automatic Champions League qualification for next season. At Stadio San Paolo they are obviously stronger, however not by much, as they hold the strongest away record in the league with 8 wins, 3 draws, and only 2 losses, scoring an impressive 32 goals, and conceding only 14. Napoli haven't lost an away league match since visiting Juventus back in October 2016, and have already defeated today's opponents (Empoli) 2-0 earlier in the season, and they will be looking to take advantage of Empoli's poor form today. Empoli have lost their last 5 consecutive league games, scoring just 1 goal and conceding 12 in the process, so it's fair to say their confidence won't be particularly high at the moment. Overall this season their main problem has been scoring goals, with only 15 scored from 28 matches, and with their top goal scorer Levan Mchedlidze only having 5 goals all season they clearly lack a top class goal threat. Although Napoli don't have the luxury of home advantage today, they do have the luxury of far greater squad quality and confidence, and that should be more than enough to secure the three points today.
