Everton won their first game in two months in midweek as they beat Wolves 4-0 and moved five points clear of the bottom three. The Merseyside derby is still one of the very biggest events in football and this will be Arne Slot’s first experience of it. Liverpool are in 1st place and 9 points clear and it has been a dream start for the Reds. However points were dropped in their last game as they drew 3-3 away to Newcastle. Last season Everton won this game 2-0 and of course it is the last derby fixture at Goodison Park. Quality wise this is a Liverpool win but if the home players and manager are on board for this historic occasion we may see more points dropped for the Reds.
Prediction: 2-0 to Liverpool
Recommended Betting Tips: Asian handicap (-1 Liverpool), Highest Scoring Half: 2nd Half at 2.00
Aston Villa vs Southampton Preview:
Relief is the word that comes to mind for Aston Villa after their midweek 3-1 victory over Brentford secured their first win in the league in two months. Unai Emery’s side have impressed this season but have fallen down the table and are now in 8th place but only four points shy of the top four. Southampton are 7 points from safety and bottom of the table and have just lost 5-1 at home to Chelsea, they look like a side who are doomed. With just 11 goals scored that’s the worst attack in the league and they have already conceded 30 goals from 14 games.
Prediction: 4-0
Recommended Betting Tips: Half Time/Full Time: Aston Villa/Aston Villa at 1.91, Ollie Watkins to score 2+ goals at 5.00, Anytime goalscorer: Jhon Duran at 2.00
Brentford vs Newcastle Preview:
Brentford lost 3-1 at Aston Villa in midweek and that was their 6th loss of the season. The Bees are in 11th place and have 20 points which is a healthy status for them at this time of the season. At home is where Thomas Frank’s side have shone through and believe it or not they currently have the best home record in the league with no defeats and 19 points from 21. Newcastle earned a superb 3-3 draw against Liverpool and have fighting spirit in them. They have the same points as the hosts and have only lost once in their last four away games. We expect to see a very exciting game with plenty of goals in it.
Prediction: 4-3 to Brentford
Recommended Betting Tips: Brentford to beat Newcatle at 2.75, Over 4.5 goals at 4.00, Anytime goalscorer: Yoane Wissa at 2.60, Anytime goalscorer: Bryan Mbeumo at 3.00, Anytime goalscorer: Alexander Isak at 2.25
Crystal Palace vs Manchester City Preview:
Crystal Palace are only hovering above the relegation zone in 17th place but are three points clear after beating Ipswich 1-0 away from home. Palace’s last home game finished in a draw against Newcastle and they only have one loss in their last five. Are Manchester City back after an horrific run for them with four defeats in a row? The champions swatted Nottingham Forest aside 3-0 and will be expected to win this game. One would expect that Pep Guardiola’s side will have to dig deep though as they try to recover their form in a tricky away tie.
Prediction: 2-0 to Manchester City
Recommended Betting Tips: Manchester City to beat Crystal Palace at 1.57, Anytime goalscorer: Phil Foden at 3.00, Correct Score: Manchester City to win 2-0 or 2-1 at 8.00 and 8.00
Manchester United vs Nottingham Forest Preview:
It’s so far so good for Ruben Amorim at home in his early Manchester United days but on the road it’s 1 point from six after United lost in midweek 2-0 against Arsenal. This match feels like a bounce back game and the Red Devils will be expected to win. Nottingham Forest have shown a lot of quality already this season but are starting to get hit away from home against the better sides. In midweek it was the other Manchester club which won 3-0 and we may see a similar result at Old Trafford.
Prediction: 3-1 to Manchester United
Recommended Betting Tips: Manchester United to beat Nottingham Forest at 1.62, Anytime goalscorer: Bruno Fernandes at 3.00, Anytime goalscorer: Marcus Rashford at 2.60
This may not be the most fierce of London derbies but we expect a very good atmosphere nonetheless. Fulham are coming off of a very good 3-1 win at home to Brighton in midweek and have moved up to 6th place with 22 points and could close the gap on the Gunners to three with a win here. The Cottagers have lost just once in their past five games and from 7 played at home have lost twice. Arsenal are in 3rd place with 28 points but only on goal difference to 2nd they have found their form again winning their last 3 games. In their last London derby they stuck 5 goals past West Ham and only two other clubs have scored more than them so far.
Prediction: 3-2 to Arsenal
Recommended Betting Tips: Arsenal to beat Fulham at 1.60, Anytime goalscorer: Martin Odegaard at 3.75, Anytime goalscorer: Raheem Sterling at 3.00, Anytime goalscorer: Raul Jimenez at 4.00, A sending off in the game at 4.50
Ipswich vs Bournemouth Preview:
It’s almost been a month since Ipswich last won a game; it came in an unlikely away fixture against Tottenham and remains the newly promoted clubs only win thus far. They have lost their last two games, losing against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace. Perhaps the only encouraging sign has been in defence with just 3 goals conceded in their last three not bad for a club in 18th place. Bournemouth have just beaten Tottenham and have won their last two in a row and could make a splash into the top six depending on other results.
Prediction: 1-1
Recommended Betting Tips: Result: Draw at 3.75, Under 2.5 goals at 2.10
Leicester vs Brighton Preview:
Leicester have done a good job bringing in Ruud Van Nistelrooy when they did and any new manager would relish their first two games in charge being at home. Van Nistelrooy oversaw a very good 3-1 win against West Ham in his first game in charge. This match should be a sterner test but Brighton for all of their qualities lost on the road in midweek 3-1 against Fulham and the Foxes will sense they are riding a wave at this time and need to take advantage of that. Brighton would stay in the top five with a win and will be looking to bounce back.
Prediction: 2-1 to Leicester
Recommended Betting Tips: Leicester to beat Brighton at 4.33, Anytime goalscorer: Karou Mitoma at 3.25, Anytime goalscorer: Patson Daka at 4.00
What do you do with a club like Tottenham? Not many sides can demolish the champions at home and lose at home to Ipswich and then in midweek lose against Bournemouth. Outspoken manager Ange Postecologu has come under pressure from the fans and some are suggesting his days may be numbered. Perhaps that is premature but Tottenham are not taking steps forward and have lost 6 games and are in 10th place. Chelsea are on form and beat Southampton 5-1 in midweek, they have won their last 3 games and lost once on the road from seven meetings.
Prediction: 2-0 to Chelsea
Recommended Betting Tips: Chelsea to beat Tottenham at 2.00, Anytime goalscorer: Nicolas Jackson at 2.50, Anytime goalscorer: Cole Palmer at 2.20
This game is expected to be Julen Lopetegui’s last if his side do not win. Such is the state of Wolves this season, the Hammers should find little problems in getting the points at home. West Ham’s shape is all over the place and they have conceded 8 goals in their past two games against Arsenal and Leicster. Wolves lost 4-0 at Everton but if Ipswich have not won their game a day beforehand then the club has the chance to leave the bottom three with a win in London. The Wolves players will hark back a few weeks to an impressive 4-1 away win over Fulham so there is every chance they could upset the Hammers.
Prediction: 1-1
Recommended Betting Tips: Handicap: Wolves to beat West Ham with a +1 goal start at 1.91, Anytime goalscorer: Edson Alvarez at 8.00, Anytime goalscorer: Rayan Ait-Nouri at 9.00
