It was not always clear this season if Newcastle were going to be able to qualify for the Champions League but Eddie Howe's side have put themselves back into contention over the past month. The Magpies come into this midweek game in fourth place and would go into 3rd and past Nottingham Forest with a win. Newcastle have been in brilliant form with four wins in a row although Eddie Howe was taken ill with pneumonia and will miss this game. Crystal Palace have been solid over the past month but were beaten 5-2 by Manchester City over the weekend. The Eagles are in 12th and are aiming for a top half finish.
