Despite mounting injuries Crystal Palace keep pulling off some impressive performances and getting points on the board. In the space of a week they have come back against both Arsenal and Manchester City to claim famous draws.
At the champions, Palace were winning the game 1-0 and then with 8 minutes to go Sergio Aguero scored a brace which seemed to have sunk the Eagles, not so and Wilfried Zaha burst clear to deny City the win. The goal summed up Palace’s never say die attitude this season.
Whilst Palace are doing well enough in 9th place with 30 points you feel that Hodgson would like to see some wins registered. The club have actually drawn their last 4 consecutive games. Still the club have gone 1 month without defeat.
Southampton finally lost after the same period of a winning batch of games and went down 3-2 to Wolves at the weekend. However the result was much more than that given the Saints were winning 2-0, it was a total collapse and perhaps there will be question marks against the players mental strength coming into this game?
With a win Southampton would go past Palace, so there is certainly motivation in this game. Away form for the club has been excellent and they have won their last 3 consecutive games on the road.

Hodgson will be hoping that his team can carry that positivity into this game. On the other side is Southampton who let a 2 goal lead slip and now face a very tough away game. True they have a decent record at Palace but we think the home side can press on and take something from this game, in what could be a very evenly matched game.
